Hi Guys, I am unable to find the Header section to add some html code for Google. If you tell me I have to go into my host via files etc then I have already looked at a previous answer here and that bit was not in there. Can you not make this a bit easier as normally I would be able to just add this via settings on other sites?

You can find the header.php file in /templates/header/header.php your active theme’s directory. However, I recommend inserting the Google HTML code into your header using a plugin. The problem with directly entering the code into header.php is that your customizations will get overwritten if you ever update you theme files and you will have to redo your changes each time. Using a plugin allows those changes to be saved through theme updates and will require less work in the long run.
I hope that this helps you get your Google codes working as expected and please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to help.
January 16, 2020 at 3:02 am #30703davidmulhollandGuestHi Joseph, there doesn’t seem to be a templates tab in the list on the left so where exactly do I find that.. in my current boldrid panel or do I have to look in my own hosts cpanel as I couldn’t see that in the file manager last time? I did manage to insert into the settings “Insert Header and footer” so is that incorrect? I put a live chat html in the footer section there before and that works

You will need to user a File Manager to access your current theme’s directory and it is not accessible as a menu option in your website’s dashboard. However if you already got your code working with the Insert Header and Footer plugin then there shouldn’t be a need to modify the template files.
