I see upload it and see it in the media folder – but can’t see it to then to select it and insert if from within a page

PDFs are treated slightly differently than images in WordPress based websites and they cannot be directly inserted into your page content with some additional steps. The easiest way to add a PDF to your page content is to use a plugin that makes embedding the file work very similar to adding images.
