When I access my CRIO blog page through Boldgrid Pages, the text and columns are not showing (only the header and footer). When I try to highlight the area to see if the text is hidden because of the color palette, nothing appears. When I access the blog page through the appearance/customizer, the original text and columns appear. Notice I have not edited any text yet on the customizer view, but this is the layout that I want. How do I transport the customizer version to Pages? Shall I delete the incomplete blog page version in Pages? I so appreciate your help!

Hi Pat! Thanks for your Crio Pro WordPress theme questions!

I visited the your Blog page URL and I’m noticing the URL displays as ?page_id=108 and it produces a 404 page. This indicates the blog page has yet to be properly configured. When you create a blog page in WordPress the idea is to display a list of archived post in the order of your choosing. I don’t think there is a need to remove the existing blog page. The “Blog” page itself is only meant to be a place holder for this archive page. That explains why you don’t see any content when you attempt to edit the blog page itself.

In order to customize your crio blog page you must first set the blog page in your Homepage settings Appearance → Customize → Design → Homepage. The blog page should be set to the blank page you created and titled “Blog”. This will allow the archive to appear as it does in the Customizer.

Still in the Customizer menu, navigate to Design → Blog → Blog Page → Post List Settings to further modify your Post list archives.

I hope I’ve answered all your questions Pat, please let us know if you need further assistance with this we’re happy to help!

    Hello, Brandon,

I followed your suggestion of setting a new blog page through my Homepage settings Appearance – Customize – Design, etc. with the name “blog.” However, I couldn’t get the sidebar uploaded with the Recent Posts widgets, etc., but then after working with it, the sidebar miraculously appeared. I am happy with that blog page except now the sidebar with the widgets is on EVERY page of my website. I tried going into each page separately to delete the sidebar on the other pages but it wouldn’t delete or it deleted everything on the page.

    Questions:
    1. How do I delete the sidebar on all the pages except for the blog page?
    2. Do I need to add a new block on my blog page every time I want to add a new post? Or can I use the “clone” feature and type in the new text?
    3. Do I need to add an image block before I insert an image on any page?

    Thanks for your help!

Hey Pat, sorry to hear you’re still having trouble with this.   If I’m understanding this correctly you have the sidebar displaying in the area you want it to now but it has also populated in other areas of your site?  Here are the steps I would take to resolve this:

    1. In your WordPress Dashboard, go to “Pages” and then click on “All Pages.”
    2. Open each page individually and go to the “Document Settings” in the right-side menu.
    3. Under “Page Attributes“, there’s an option for “Template“. Click on the dropdown and select “No Sidebar” or “Full-width” (whichever option is available).
    4. After you’ve made the change, remember to click “Update” to save.

Repeat these steps for each page where you want to remove the sidebar. But for your blog page, don’t change the template, leave it as “Default Template” or a template with a sidebar.

    Answering your other questions:

    1. You don’t need to add a new block on your blog page every time you want to add a new post. Once you create a post it should auto populate on the archive page you created.
    2. You can essentially copy/paste an image into your Post and Page Builder page but to prevent broken links you want to add an image to your website directly before placing it on the page. You should first insert an image block to ensure you’re pulling the image from your WordPress Media section. From your page or post editor, click the ‘+‘ button to add a new block and then select ‘Image‘. You can then upload an image or select one from your media library.

I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any other questions.
