GuestHello, I’m a bit puzzled. I have a site with mainly pages with static content.
1) I have turned all the purging triggers off on W3TC for the page cache.
2) I have disabled the full page cache purging by other plugins (identified through the page cache log in PRO).
3) I did a full site page cache early in the morning.
4) The log shows that the last purge was yesterday (9 feb), and it was only a single post flushAnd yet… all the page caches are suddenly gone again on 10 feb in the afternoon.
So why are my page caches disappearing all the time ? Any ideas or suggestions ?
Best regards
Peter
PS: I do use W3TC in combination with Autoptimize. But I do not use the latter for page caching.

KeymasterHello Peter
Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
What you see in the folder are the expired cache files. This option in the W3 Total Cache is set in Perormance>Page Cache>Advanced> Maximum lifetime of cache objects:
Once the cache is expired, the _old file is created and this indicates that the cached file is served, however, if the page was not visited, no new file is created so the older cached version is served.Have you tried increasing the Maximum lifetime of cache objects and also please try using Cache Preload to always have a fresh cached page available
Thanks!
Peter
GuestHello Marko,
Thank you for the answer. That does clarify a lot.
The Cache preload was set tot 900s interval and 10 pages per interval. Given that the site has about 120 pages, the full site would have been primed in about 3 hours. Indeed the cache max lifetime was set to 1 hour. I’ve changed the max lifetime to 24 hours (and decreased the priming to 5 pages per 900s interval).
I’ll check over the next few days if all is ok !
Best regards
Peter
