Thank you for submitting a question. This could be an issue with the CSS classes associated with the text widget. However, I could replicate the behavior exactly as you described it.
It’s possible we are using different versions of BoldGrid. If you are using an older version of the Venetian theme, it’s possible that the issue you’re describing has been corrected.
If you can provide a link to the site you’re viewing, we might be able to view the issue and perhaps find a solution.

I added a below-the-header widget with text (using the exact steps of the tutorial). Not at all difficult.
Works beautifully on the home page.
So why is it that this same widget area has a solid blue background covering up most of the background image on EVERY OTHER PAGE BUT NOT THE HOME PAGE? This looks like a programming error to me. Is there a fix?
