Hi! I have a quick question, but let me first just say thank you for making it easy to reach out to you, and thanks for making really cool wordpress themes! I tried out your ‘Cobalt’ theme, and I love it and it looks really awesome, but for some reason my background comes out white when I look at my website instead of dark grey or black which is what it looks like when I’m building it. Also some of the other colors seem a little off as well, but I’m mainly concerned about getting rid of the white background. Let me know if you have any ideas!

(p.s. since I can’t get the white background to go away, there’s a good chance my site will have a different theme or have an image as the background by the time you see it, but I’d love to get this theme working if I can)

    Thank you!

    Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with the Cobalt theme – when I looked at your website just now I saw a space background. If your site is set to use a color background, it should use the last color in the row from Customizer > Color Palette. If it is not, there is a bug we should look into.

What is the last color in the palette set to when the site appears white? When does the background look different? With the Customizer open? When editing a page?

    Thanks,
    Nicole

Hi again, I went ahead and removed my space background. The rightmost color in the palette is rgba(2,2,2,0.01). Also I notice there seems to be a bit of a background pattern, and it seems I have it set to none. When editing the site, it appears 100% as expected. But when viewing through a browser that I am not signed into wordpress in, and with the cache cleared, it ends up looking white and with a background pattern. Thanks for the help!

    Hi Adam-

It looks like it’s stuck on the “60-lines” background pattern, which is the default in Cobalt.

The first thing to try is to navigate to Customize > Background > Pattern & Color and click the Remove Selected Pattern button. If it’s grayed-out, click one of the patterns, then click remove again, and click Publish to save those changes.

If that doesn’t do the trick, based on what you’ve described that it looks right when you’re logged-in but not in a different browser, it sounds like it might still being cached somewhere.

Try disabling WP Super Cache and refreshing the page to see if it looks right, and if it still doesn’t, try clearing your DreamPress Proxy Cache using these instructions.

If you’re still having trouble after those steps, please reach out again here so we can dig deeper.

Hi, thanks for the help. I tried your suggestions and still no luck, however, I like the image background that I’m currently using anyway. I’d like to find out how to use color backgrounds just so I know, but I want it up and running soon and so I need to just go ahead with the image. If you find out more about why this was happening, feel free to let me know. Thanks!

Hey! You can ignore my previous message if you like, because in-fact there’s nothing wrong with the way bold grid is working! I thought I had all my themes off, but apparently I had a dark theme on in my google chrome! I’m so sorry, I checked multiple times and it always said it was off. Regardless, when I really turned it off, all the colors looked normal again. Apparently I was picking bright colors in the first place. All is back on track, and with that let me say great themes, keep up the good work! Anyways thanks for trying to help me!

    Hi Adam-
Thanks for the update! I’m glad to hear it’s working correctly without dark mode.
Let us know if you have any more questions, we’re happy to help!
