I don’t know why, but in blog posts, following the comment submission field, where the required author, email and URL are supposed to show, they are all missing in Chrome, but show up in Safari. I’ve tried everything, but no dice. I really need my visitors to fill out those fields. At the moment, if they’re using Chrome, the fields are invisible.

(However, the obnoxious HTML-allowed divs really need to go away. There needs to be a simple way to toggle *those* off, while retaining the comment-form-author -email and -url fields)

I took a look at your blog post in Chrome, and I do see the Name, Email, and Website fields showing, and it even looks like you got rid of the “Allowed Tags” section.
Did you already resolve this issue, or are you still missing the fields when you check it out in Chrome?
Keep in mind that you won’t see those fields when you’re logged-in, because your Name, Email, and Site are all a part of your user profile. Check it in an incognito window to see how it will look to your visitors.
September 17, 2020 at 6:09 pm #27261CatGuestJesse, yes, after about an hour of trial and error, I managed to execute a clunky CSS hack to eliminate the HTML-allow, which really needs to be something admins can toggle on and off.
I also figured out the disappearing name, email and website fields, as you say. It’s a bit inconvenient not to be able to see one’s changes using the “View Post” link from the editor, as one is editing. Thanks anyway.

I’m glad to hear that you were able to get everything resolved. We are currently working to add a new feature to give you more control over the comments form. Thank you very much for your feedback!
Please let us know if you have any more questions, we’re happy to help.
September 18, 2020 at 1:58 pm #27283CatGuestI’m a little confused, Jesse. The feature in the link seems unrelated to what I was having difficulty with.

Sorry about the confusion, that link is really kind of a “behind-the-scenes” look into development of the product. I just wanted to let you know that we are working on creating better controls for the comment forms, including the ability to remove the “Allowed Tags” and customize the design. -
