I have two nested rows in each of two columns that are side by side (four rows, two in each column, columns are side by side making four rows essentially in a square grid–from an template block that I dragged to create the page). I have successfully edited the hover effect for a single row in a single column to alter the background color. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to make the entire row a navigation button or to have the hover effect make it so that when you hover over the row you are presented with the option to click and be transported to a page being referenced in the text of the row. I do not wish to make it where you have to click exactly on the text inside the row. The text only takes a small portion of the row (which are sideways rectangles) and I want my visitors to be able to simply click the row as a link. For context, each of the rows in both columns list a specific trip on this page which is titled “Upcoming Tours” and I want visitors to be able to hover over a specific upcoming tour row and have the option to click and be transported to the individual page that gives the details for that specific trip.
I’m just trying to add a navigation link for the entire row! I don’t even care if it uses a hover effect. I’m frustrated spending hours trying to figure this out! Help! (meltdown complete, I’m fine. 🙂 )
May 4, 2022 at 10:46 am #52207Brandon CKeymasterHi Tim,
Thanks so much for reaching out and thank you for using BoldGrid Post and Page Builder for WordPress!
I think the best way to accomplish this would be to switch to your “text” editor from inside of Post and Page and Builder and wrap the entire row in an “anchor tag”
<a></a>
. That way your “content row” will link to thesrc
value of your anchor tag. We’d be happy to help you out with this! Could you do us a favor and link us to the URL of the page you’re experiencing this issue on. That way we can inspect the page and give you our best suggestions on how to move forward.
We look forward to assisting you further with this!

Check out this quick 5-minute video I made for another user who had the same question:
May 9, 2022 at 6:36 am #52307Tim McCormickGuestOkay, I reviewed the video and got partial success in that I was able to get more of the page than I wanted to link to the first page (Ireland tour) I tried. unfortunately, I couldn’t then get the “cursor: pointer;” to correspond to the same area.
I don’t know if Branden’s suggestion might also work because my page (unlike the video) has multiple rows in multiple columns, and I can’t seem to locate the appropriate row style definition for the one row in the corresponding column to place the appropriate code (and I’m really not a coder either, but can follow directions).
Soooooooooooo, perhaps you could look at my page and identify which
<div class= “row” style…
section I’m supposed to either wrap in an anchor tab or add code from the video to.Sorry to be so needy, but it doesn’t seem like I’m asking for such a sophisticated or unusual request. In summary, I simply want the entire box that is currently changing background color when you hover over the row with the Ireland text in it to essentially become a transparent button that links to the corresponding page (ireland-tour).
Thanks for your help!
May 9, 2022 at 6:36 am #52394Tim McCormickGuestI greatly appreciate your responsiveness! It has been truly amazing.
I responded on Thursday after receiving the link to the short video. I was hopeful, but the page I am working on doesn’t have a single column, nor a single row, but rather two of both. I explained that both solutions suggested could possibly be successful, but that I had not been able to identify exactly where in the text code to make the suggested changes.
I realized that I accidentally clicked on the unsubscribe link because my computer was lagging. I also did not receive a response the next business day, as had happened earlier. So, if you have already responded to my last reply to you, please start another thread that I’m not already unsubscribed to.
I’m truly sorry this occurred.
Thanks!
Tim
May 9, 2022 at 6:53 am #52618Brandon CKeymasterHi Tim! My apologies for the slow response this time, we were out for the weekend.
But I definitely understand what you’re saying here. Let’s try this, visit your page in the Post and Page Builder and switch from the “Visual” editor to the “Text” editor and copy all the HTML you see there then, paste it here in the thread.
That way we can inspect the HTML on your page directly and try correcting the issue for you on our end. If we’re successful we’ll send you back the updated HTML so that you can replace your current code.
Hope to hear from you soon!
May 23, 2022 at 9:41 am #53326Tim McCormickGuestI’m just checking in on the status of support on this issue. Has it dropped off the radar or is it something else. Just trying to get my site functioning as I’d like.
Thanks!
