I have a couple of issues with my boldgrid website:
1. After a few recent updates, a video element in my website (right under the primary menu) and a title above it vanished. When I added it again through blocks and/or a video widget, the video window was not adaptive and remained a fixed size which was smaller than the width of my page (which was the opposite of what I wanted it to do. I want the video window to be the same width as my page, and adapt its width when viewed on a laptop/tablet/phone).
I then used Vimeo’s embedded code and added it to the page, but even though that solved the adaptive issue, the update was not showing in other browsers and devices when I published/updated the page. I had a chat session with InMotion technical support, and they said they solved it by using the “purge from cache” option on the publish menu on the right of the edit page. They also set it to refresh purging every 900 automatically. And told me to purge it every time I make changes to the page.
That worked. Then I went back to the page and I added a couple of words above the video window (DIRECTOR REEL), but even though I saved and purged like I was told to do, the same issue started to happen again and now I couldn’t view the two words on other browsers or devices. That’s when tech support said he didn’t know why that keeps happening. Any ideas?
2. The video window looks great in the “Large View”, but when I check it in the “Desktop View”, “Tablet View”, and “Phone View”, it keeps adding bigger and bigger margins above and below the window. The smaller the view gets, the larger those empty margins become. This doesn’t seem to happen to the other elements on the page (which adapt perfectly to each view). Any clues how to fix that?
Many thanks!

Thanks for reaching out with your BoldGrid Post and Page Builder questions. I’m sorry to hear you’re having a bit of trouble implementing your video block but lets see if we can help you out.
I inspected your video video on a smaller device and I see exactly what you mean. It seems the Vimeo iframe embed has a hard-coded height specification and that’s adding the extra space to your element.
One thing you can try is cloning your video block and using the responsive utilities in Post and Page Builder to create a new element specifically for mobile devices and hide the original element on these screen sizes.
I noticed the height of your iframe is 500px. Try changing the original Vimeo player
height="500"
to, lets sayheight="150"
for your new element. You can play around with the setting until you reach your desired result.I hope this helps! Please let us know if you have further questions on anything.

Thank you for the kind reply!
Is there a different way to do it? I was hoping that boldgrid’s blocks or video elements would have an option to link a vimeo video which would actually be responsive/adaptive to every device, but they seem to be very limited every time I try to use them. Which is why I felt I had to resort to the embed code instead.
Many thanks!
March 7, 2023 at 7:53 am #81897YannisGuestThank you for that info.
Is there a way to make Boldgrid’s own blocks or vimeo-video elements responsive, so I could just do that and avoid the whole embedding thing in the first place?

Yes, you should certainly be able to add your video using a pre-generated video block. I was able to do this by clicking the share button of my Vimeo video, grabbing the direct link and inputting it in my video block element.
I’m linking a gist with the BoldGrid block I used to make this happen:
I hope this helps.
