First of all suddenly couldn’t add new products with Page & Post Builder active. Now I can’t edit as I used to. Columns have disappeared although they still show up on website but trying to edit pages is now impossible as I can’t tell how element layouts are going to appear when live.

Thanks for reaching out with your BoldGrid Post and Page Builder questions! We inspected your site at the URL you attached in the thread and I see that you’re using the StoreFront WooCommerece theme.
This theme is not 100% compatible with Post and Page Builder because the PPB was specifically created to work with themes built on the BoldGrid Theme Framework such as our Crio Pro WordPress theme.
If you wish to continue using the Storefront theme I’d suggest contacting the theme developers directly for advice on installing and using a compatible page builder.
