BoldGrid Easy SEO is like your own personal writing coach. It appears on the editor screen, below your post content, giving you Red/Yellow/Green indicators on your post’s semantic content. However, some users may experience an issue where the Easy SEO section isn’t showing up below their editor. If you are troubleshooting BoldGrid Easy SEO not showing, follow these steps.
Check the Screen Options
- In the classic editor, or BoldGrid Post and Page Editor, look for the Screen Options pull-down menu at the top of the screen.
- If you are using the WordPress Block Editor (“Gutenberg”), you can find this menu by clicking the Vertical Elipsis (“Hamburger”) and choose Options
- Ensure that Easy SEO is checked.
Check for Plugin Conflict
Previous versions of the plugin had a conflict with other SEO plugins. If you have more than one SEO plugin, first make sure that you are running the latest version of BoldGrid Easy SEO. If this does not resolve the issue, you may need to consider which SEO plugin gives you the most value and choose one or the other.

I’m seeing Easy SEO OK, the problem is that while Search Visibility is set to “yes” for indexing and linking, there is a “noindex” in the robots meta tag on my site. How can this be fixed?
I have the “yes” set for indexing and linking on my home page, but the site contains a “noindex” in the robots meta tag. How do I get rid of this?
Jesse says:
Hello Paul,
I’m sorry to hear about the trouble, I know a noindex tag can be fatal for your website success.
The first thing that comes to mind is that you may have the site-global Discourage Search Engines setting enabled. You can find this in your Settings -> Reading menu (if you have BoldGrid Inspirations installed, this might be called Settings -> Blog). If this is enabled, your entire site will have noindex, and it will override the individual post/page settings you find in BoldGrid Easy SEO.
Paul says:
Hi Jesse – brilliant – you were right, that setting was switched on! Never knew it existed. Let’s see if that fixes it. Many thanks, Paul

Glad to hear it Paul! Let us know if you have any more questions.
