I have just signed up to Boldgrid, and need to connect my domain host with the DNS. How do I get the DNS for Boldgrid?

    Hello,

Thanks for the question. BoldGrid itself doesn’t interact with your Domain’s DNS- it is a suite of plugins and themes for WordPress.

Your hosting provider will be able to provide you with the information you need to point your domain to your hosting account.

If you need to know where to host WordPress website, we can help with that too.

    Hello APMc,

I’m sorry that you’re still having trouble with this, I’ll do my best to try and explain more clearly.

WordPress and BoldGrid are the software that you use to create your website. You can run this software on any computer, but in order for other people to see the website you make using the software, that computer has to have an “address.”

DNS is the way that the internet looks up your website’s address, for example, your domain might “point” to an IP address like 1.2.3.4. So when your domain registrar is asking you to find the DNS, they’re normally talking about either “Nameservers,” or the actual IP address, so that they can “point” your domain toward the computer that has your website.

BoldGrid doesn’t actually provide these computers, but our fantastic WordPress Hosting partners do. You can use any hosting provider you’d like however, these are just the ones we recommend.

Since you are a Premium customer, you get all of these features, including one-on-one support via your BoldGrid Central Account, so if you’re still having trouble, feel free to reach out in a private ticket so we can give you more specific information.

    I hope this helps
