I’ve selected summary for my blog posts, but the whole text shows up on the page. How do I get it to just show the summary on the blog page for people to click on and then read the whole thing?

Generally speaking, you’ll need two things for your post excerpts to work. It sounds like you’ve already got the settings configured, so the second thing you need is the Read More Tag in your actual post content.
Edit your post, and set your cursor at the spot you’d like your excerpt to end, and click the Insert Read More Tag button (it looks like this: ).
Then, only the text before the read more tag will show in your excerpt.

Same problem. When I click Read More tag, page jumps, but nothing shows up. If I update page, then go to blog feed, full post there still. Suggestion?

From what you’ve described when you say the “page jumps,” I’m thinking that the Read More tag might not have been inserted where you meant to.
To double-check, switch over to the Text editor tab, and look for the tag (possibly at the very end of your post from what you described) that looks like this:
<!--more-->
You can cut the tag out and paste it where it was meant to be placed.
April 16, 2021 at 3:13 pm #36189TimGuestMorning Jesse,
I’m glad you said that. I actually went to the html yesterday and inserted !–more–. and that worked. I did look at bottom of post, and low and behold I see…
!– wp:paragraph –><!– /wp:paragraph —
about 30 times. I’m assuming that’s the theme’s version of Read More? I don’t doubt where I had my curser, so not sure why it inserted at bottom of post.
April 16, 2021 at 3:18 pm #36210Jesse OwensKeymasterHello Tim-
Those code comments that you see similar to wp:paragraph are actually “Gutenberg” blocks, created by the WordPress default editor.
Are you using the WordPress “Gutenberg” Editor, the BoldGrid Post and Page Builder, or some other editor?
April 19, 2021 at 4:24 pm #36217TimGuestI mostly use Post and Page Builder. When I want a certain block that that doesn’t offer, I switch over to WordPress editor or Gutenburg.
April 19, 2021 at 4:40 pm #36336Jesse OwensKeymasterHi Tim-
Generally speaking, I only recommend using one editor or the other on a single post or page, but if that works for you then I wouldn’t worry about the <!– wp:paragraph –> tags. It’s possible that those might be causing the strange behavior inserting the <!– more –> tag, but I couldn’t replicate that issue when I tried to.
If you’re in the Post and Page Builder, you can spot the More tag by looking for the row with a lot of hyphens, and you can drag it to the right position by using the 4-way arrow icon:

April 21, 2021 at 1:39 pm #36415TimGuestThank you Jesse. For some reason the read more button isn’t working. Having to type it in to the html. I’d also rather not use two builders, but it’s hook or crook lol.
