I have four categories of products, but only three are showing up on my storefront. When I am in Customizer I made changes to have the store show 4 products/categories. When I view the changes I made all looks good. HOWEVER, the changes I make are not there after I log out of Boldgrid and then go to my site. How long does it take for changes made in customizer to take effect on the actual site?
July 19, 2018 at 11:24 am #22295Arnel CMemberHello John,
Thanks for your question about the Customizer changes not showing up in your website. The changes should be immediate depending on your website/hosting configuration. One of the common causes for a change not to appear is simply browser caching. Make sure that you clear browser cache before loading the page. If it had cached an older version then that is the version you are probably seeing. Additionally, WordPress sites can use caching. Some hosts have caching outside of the WordPress installation to help with speed of the site. If you’re using caching in WordPress or through your host’s configuration then make sure you’re clearing that cache. If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.

Thanks for your response.
I am not experiencing what you suggest. I have cleared my cache and it still shows the same. Also, when I enter a new product they show up immediately, as you said. Furthermore, I added all my categories to the top bar menu, and they showed up immediately. BUT, further on down the main screen, only three categories (with pictures) are shown. I have four selected in the Configure package. By the way, how do I get rid of the New In, Best Sellers, and Fan Favorite pictures on the home page. They are not shown in any of the editing screens, and I don’t want them. Please go to http://www.wellturnedpens.com and you will see what I am talking about.
July 19, 2018 at 1:13 pm #22293Arnel CMemberHi John,
I took a longer look at the issue after viewing your site. The problem is that you’re using WooCommerce AND BoldGrid – both have their own editors. The StoreFront theme can be loaded with its own extensions and extras. So, it is most likely a conflict between the two systems. If you intend to stick with using the StoreFront theme, then I would recommend using ONLY that theme. If you want to stick with using BoldGrid as your WordPress site, you can make it easier by simply having two separate sites. BoldGrid for WordPress site and then link to the StoreFront theme in the menu for your ecommerce needs. StoreFront is a WooCommerce specific theme – not built by BoldGrid- so any modifications to the front page as you are requesting will need to be done in the StoreFront Customization interface. Apologies as I know this sounds confusing, but I hope that our explanation clarifies the reason for the problems that you’re having. You can simplify it by using just WooCommerce with the StoreFront theme, BoldGrid with WooCommerce using a BoldGrid theme, or by having two separate sites and linking them together through the menus.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
February 12, 2021 at 6:42 pm #33773Thomas S KirkpatrickGuestHello. I am in the process of starting my website, and have some basic pages up. I am using the Monument theme. My issue is that when I go to Customize > Current Theme, then make changes and click Publish, the changes are reset upon refreshing, reloading, leaving and returning to Customize, and never show in the web-accessed page (from another machine).
I have tried to make the changes (fonts, backgrounds, etc) from three different devices, with no success.

Thanks for reaching out, I’m sorry to hear about the trouble saving your Customizations in the Monument Theme for WordPress.
I checked out your site, and one thing I noticed is that you’re currently using the Remixer Gutenberg Blocks plugin. That plugin was originally developed by DreamHost, but they no longer recommend using it, and I have seen instances in the past where that plugin interfered with BoldGrid themes’ Customizer.
Can you try deactivating Remixer Gutenberg Blocks, and see if the issue continues?
As an aside, I can also see you’re using the main Gutenberg plugin. You don’t need to keep that either, as it’s primarily a beta testing plugin now. To use Gutenberg alongside BoldGrid, you can switch editors using the drop-down menu at the top of every post and page.

Best regards.
