Hello,
Something happened during page editing, and the column shrunk (see screenshot), while the published page looks normal. Same happened to all blog (and blog only) posts. Other pages behave normally. I don’t use any non-Bolfgrid blog plugins.
Thank you
February 7, 2018 at 4:09 pm #23052Arnel CMemberSorry for the problem with your Column width changing. Are you able to duplicate the problem? If so, please provide us the exact steps you’re taking so that we can duplicate the issue and then look into further.
February 7, 2018 at 8:02 pm #23051Anonymous UserMemberYes, I’m able to duplicate the problem. All my blog (and blog only) pages act like this. To duplicate it, open any blog page in BG editor, and see the difference with the preview (or published). I use Evolv theme if it matters.
It happened in the middle of a page edit, and I wasn’t doing anything unusual. Perhaps, the problem has something to do with the WP update to the latest version, which happened at about same time period.
I tried to reinstall BG Post and Page Builder plugin, no luck.
February 8, 2018 at 4:37 pm #23050BoldGrid SupportKeymasterHi Alex,
It looks like the editor is not big enough to display the full width of the page and the full width of the page is properly displayed when loading the actual page in your browser.
Best Regards,
Carlos D
February 8, 2018 at 5:11 pm #23049Anonymous UserMemberThank you Carlos,
I realize that the editor isn’t big enough, but why did it shrink, and how to “unshrink” it? As I mentioned before, only Blog module pages affected, and it happened in the process of editing.
February 9, 2018 at 11:13 am #23048Arnel CMemberHello Alex,
Sorry for the issues with the editor. When you edit the blog post, do your changes look different from what is seen on the screen? The main difference that I have is that I do not have the background change for the test site I’m using. It’s not the same as your background. When I preview the blog appearance, the text looks formatted the same. Yours may be different because of the customization used with the background. The editor with the post in the middle is the normal functionality of the software. If you were seeing something different, then it is either associated with a different version of the software or a custom change to the code to affect its behavior in this instance. If you continue to have the problem, please provide a set-by-step of your actions leading to the issue. Also, please detail any customization you may have made to your installation.
February 9, 2018 at 7:43 pm #23047Anonymous UserMemberHello Arnel,
It seems like we have misunderstanding.
As I mentioned, the problem with editor happened while I was editing a page. I didn’t do anything unusual to trigger it. It just happened for no apparent reason.
Last CSS was customized long before the incident. Details are here
Only BLOG pages are affected. Non-blog pages are fine. Non-blog page in the editor screenshot here. Same page on the website here. As you can see, the content looks the same.
Software used: WP 4.9.4, Evolv theme 1.23, all latest BG plugins.
I’m not sure what problem you had with the background. What additional details can I provide?
Thank you!
February 15, 2018 at 8:18 pm #23046Anonymous UserMemberIf the problem is theme related, can you contact the Evolv theme developer? AAlex Pre you still working on solving this problem? Thank you!
February 16, 2018 at 11:23 am #23045BoldGrid SupportKeymasterHello Alex
The issue appears to be related to additional custom coded CSS on your website. This is not the expected behavior of the theme. In our multiple instances for testing this, we are unable to replicate, until we add the code you have mentioned in your previous comments.
I recommend removing the custom CSS code that you have added, this will correct the issue caused by that code.
Otherwise, I recommend you contact whomever made those CSS modifications. They may need to review the code to ensure that their changes were not overwritten by an update to the theme. To prevent this from happening they would need to create a Child Theme and customize that with their code. This will prevent their code from being overwritten in future updates to the theme.
I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Carlos D
