Hello,
Is there a way I can edit the search results page in Crio?
Also, why does every search end withRead… (i.e. “Read…” with no space before it)??
Thanks!

Thanks for the great question, and thanks for using the Crio WordPress theme.
Thanks for the report, the issue withRead… is a bug. I’ve submitted an update for the search results page to our developers and we’ll release it with the next update for Crio.
If you need to fix it ahead of time, you can make the same change to Crio’s
search.php
file. Editing theme files can crash your site if you make a typo, so make sure you make a backup of your website first.Once you’ve done that, replace line 35 of
search.php
like so:
Right now, there aren’t any Customizer controls for the search result page, but if you can describe what you’d like to accomplish, we’ll be happy to help with any advanced customizations you’d like to make.

I look forward to getting that search results bug fixed in the next Crio update. You ask about the changes on the search results page I’d like to accomplish. For starters, I’d like to see:
(1) Like the search results page on your site, I’d like to not have the results spread across the screen at 100%. It’s too much of a contrast between the other pages of the site, on which the text is confined to columns that are considerable narrower. Your search results page seems, on my wide desktop monitor, to be confined to a central column of maybe 50-60% (~1080px).
(2) It would also be nice if I could adjust the font size, so that the “Search Results” heading, and especially the heading for each individual result, wasn’t so humongous.
Lastly, although this is not directly connected to the search results page format, I’d like some way of creating a pop up, full screen, search box. Right now I’m using the SearchWP Modal Search form plugin, but it looks a little funky (search box too small) and it only works with the basic WP search or the SearchWP plugin, which is a tad expensive. So I guess this is a feature request. Could such an popup search box option be built into the theme, perhaps activated by a small magnifying glass that would save space on my main menu?
Thanks for listening! Lance
