Hello,
I’m trying to troubleshoot an issue with Font Awesome on my site. As you know, Font Awesome has a troubleshooting function, with a module that scans the site for “conflicting versions” of the plugin. That scanner indeed discovered a conflict on my site, apparently with my BoldGrid Crio theme (which it does not see as a “registered theme”). Here’s the URL it reports:
The instructions provided (under “Other themes or plugins:) are: “Below is the list of other versions of Font Awesome from active plugins or themes that are loading on your site. Check off any that you would like to block from loading. Normally this just blocks the conflicting version of Font Awesome and doesn’t affect the other functions of the plugin, but you should verify your site works as expected.”
I have not tried this. I’m afraid of breaking my site. Can you help me understand what’s going on here, and the best way to fix this?
I would note that, in my Plugins folder, it indicates I’m using “Version 4.0.0-rc23” of Font Awesome.
Here’s a screen shot of part of the Font Awesome troubleshooting results page:

Thanks for the question, and thanks for using the Crio WordPress theme.
I’ve tested disabling Crio’s built-in Font Awesome library and I haven’t found any problems. The official Font Awesome plugin is designed to be as compatible as possible, and I’ve found that to be true with Crio.
In the worst case scenario, your site wouldn’t be completely disabled, only some of the icons might not work as expected, so I would recommend going ahead with disabling the Font Awesome library included with Crio.
