I’m using the CRIO theme. How can I change the link color for active links in the Main Menu? When I go to Customize->Design->Menus, the only option I see available is “Footer Social Icons.” I don’t see how to change colors for the Main Menu links. Thank you.
November 8, 2021 at 7:34 am #44729Brandon CKeymasterHi Charles thanks for reaching out and thanks for using Crio Pro WordPress theme!
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble changing the active link style in your main menu.
You can access the menu design options by opening the Customizer and navigating to Design<<Menus<<Menu Location<<Menu Items<<Active Link Style. Here you’ll see options to change the link color, background color, and border color for your active link.
I hope this helps. Please reach back out if you have any other questions.
November 8, 2021 at 12:01 pm #44745Charles MitchellGuestThanks for your reply. Unfortunately, when I go to Design<<Menus, the ONLY option I see at that point is “Footer Social Icons.” I don’t see “Menu Location” anywhere. If I click on Footer Social Icons, then I can go to Menu Items, etc. and see where I can change the Active Link color for Footer Social Icons only. I tried changing it to another color, just to see what would happen, but it didn’t change the color of the active links in the Main Menu, which is where I’m having the issue. Is there a way I can send you a screenshot so you can see what I’m describing? Thanks!
November 8, 2021 at 12:04 pm #44747Brandon CKeymasterHi thank you for that information. yes, you can send your screenshot with ImgBB. Just upload your screenshots and copy/paste the view link here in the thread. We’ll take a look for you and give our suggestions.
November 9, 2021 at 10:45 am #44789Charles MitchellGuestHi Brandon – Thanks for your quick reply. For some reason I didn’t get an email notifying me that you had replied. I just came to this site to check if maybe you had, and I saw that you had about 3 minutes after my last post!
I uploaded a screenshot at link https://ibb.co/SfJJyJK. Notice, also, in the pic that the HOME (active) link, to the left of About Us, is so dark it’s hard to read. That’s the color I want to lighten. However, If I change Color 2 to a lighter color on the palette, it affects everything else I intentionally want to be that color on the rest of the website. I’m trying to change the active link color of the Main Menu to Color 4 on the palette.
If you can’t determine from the screenshot what the problem is, I would be happy to give you access to my computer to troubleshoot it if that’s something you’re willing and able to do. This is the last thing to fix on my website before transferring the domain to Dreamhost and going live. My domain with GoDaddy, the current hosting provider, expires a week from today, so I’d like to get it transferred pretty quickly.
Thanks again for your help!
Charles
November 9, 2021 at 11:21 am #44810Brandon CKeymasterThanks for the detailed information Charles. I’m not sure why you aren’t seeing the menu design options. It may have something to do with your staging environment. Try pulling up the Main Menu by opening the Customizer and selecting the Pencil Icon located right next to the live menu on the page.
Hopefully this will override whatever is hiding the main menu and allow you to edit in the customizer.
One other thing you could try is navigating to Customize < Menus (NOT Design<Menus), and click on View All Locations, to make sure you menus are intact and selected.
I hope this helps!

November 9, 2021 at 12:50 pm #44812Charles MitchellGuestThanks for sticking with me on this!
I tried your suggestions, and it doesn’t look like it recognizes my Main Menu, although, as you can see, it’s there.
I’ve uploaded some more screenshots at https://ibb.co/V99d6n3.
Again, if you can troubleshoot directly with me on my computer, that would be fine with me. But whatever you are able to do is appreciated!
November 9, 2021 at 1:01 pm #44815Brandon CKeymasterYou’re welcome Charles, I definitely want to help you see this through, your issue is not a common one. I’m thinking it may be tied in someway to your staging environment.

November 9, 2021 at 3:03 pm #44826Charles MitchellGuestThank you, Brandon. I’ve created a login to boldgrid.com. How do I access the Premium Support forum? I didn’t see it.
November 9, 2021 at 3:04 pm #44829November 10, 2021 at 8:49 am #44837Charles MitchellGuestThank you, Brandon! One last question: When you said that since I’m a Dreamhost customer I qualify for your Premium Support services, did you mean I would get that support for free, or is it paid support? At the Support site you gave me, the link to Premium Support says it’s available to those “with a Premium key or any paid subscription.” I’m not aware of having a premium key, and I don’t have a paid subscription to BoldGrid. The other option is “BoldGrid Free Support,” which, I assume, is what you’re providing. Please unconfuse me. 🙂 thx
November 10, 2021 at 8:52 am #44862Brandon CKeymasterHi Charles, Yes you are in the free support queue at the moment. DreamHost provides you with a free BoldGrid Premium Bundle Connect key, which is $60/year to purchase directly from us. You can contact them for information on how to obtain the Connect Key. It should be located somewhere inside of your hosting account.

November 10, 2021 at 1:38 pm #44878Charles MitchellGuestFYI I got an email this morning that the CRIO theme and CRIO Premium plugin had been updated to a new version. I checked my website and was then able to access the Main Menu from Customize->Design->Menus… and to change the Active Link Color! Apparently, a patch was needed. Thanks again.
November 10, 2021 at 1:39 pm #44880Brandon CKeymasterThat’s awesome! I’m happy you were able to get this resolved!
