Hello, Thank you so much if you can assist. I am new at this. I uploaded (media) as my
background image on the front page of my new theme/inspiration. I have tried resizing its pixel
size and played around with all of the tools and simply cannot figure out how to just make the
image smaller on the front page. I don’t want to change the quality of the resolution but simply
cannot find a way to scale it down, it looks far too large and out of proportion.
    Thanks!

    Hi Lisa,

Thank you for reaching out. Images can be tricky, ideally you’d want to edit them in a 3rd Party image software like the free Pixlr Editor. That way you can scale each image to the exact proportions to fit correctly into you webpage.

If you can send us the URL of your webpage we can take a look and see if we can give you some on page editing options. I’m also curious to know if this image is being pulled in by BoldGrid Post and Page Builder for WordPress or through some global background setting in the WordPress Customizer.

We look forward to assisting you further with this!

Hello, Thank you for replying. I don’t understand what is meant by global background setting in the Customizer? I clicked on the bottom of the frame surrounding the main front page image. It has three lines and says Edit Section. An option says “Change Background”. This is how I imported my photoshop created jpeg. There is an opportunity to edit the photo after importing the image from my desktop into the Media window. I couldn’t figure out how to get back to this image editor window however without re-placing the image. If I lower the pixel amount, it just lowers the resolution of my image, it does not give any option for “inches”, only some kind of ratio which I do not understand how to work with. I was hoping that I could resize the image by pulling on a corner, as I can do with the other images that I work with on the other pages of the theme/inspiration. The inability to edit size is
solely for this front background image. The proportions DO fit into the website, I just would like the entire image to be reduced and use less of the page, to allow more of a frame around it. I am not sure what Post and Page builder is, however, I do see it in the editing space of my site when I edit, up on the top! The site is under construction, not in the public yet, which is why I am not linking it. Thank you Kindly for your guidance! Also, is there a link for a tutorial specifically for boldgrid, in how to work with blocks and move them and resize them? THANK YOU!

    Thanks Lisa,

To make things easier could you could send us the URL of your website we can take a at your issue directly? It sounds like you have uploaded the image correctly and may just need to adjust the padding or margin around it.

    Hello,
Thanks! That seemed to work. There is something I am working on that looks good on a large screen or tablet, but on a cell phone most of the front page image is cut off. Is there some kind of setting that will allow the image to shrink down for phone viewers automatically?
Thank you again for your assistance.

I’m happy that worked for you Lisa.

It could be some element pushing the image over on smaller screen sizes. If you could send us the URL of that particular webpage we can take a look at that for you.

Hi, I was helped by my web host and converted the background to an “image” and this resolved the problem. Is there a way to use a “background” without making it into an image?
Also, is there a way to insert type on top of an image?
    Thank you again!

    You’re so welcome Lisa!

Sure you can use the background tool without adding an image. You can add a single background color or gradient to your section instead of an image and you’ll have the ability to add text and structure to each section to style your website exactly the way you want.

You can follow this guide on working with backgrounds in BoldGrid Post and Page Builder to help you familiarize yourself with adding different functionalities to your “Post and Page Builder” backgrounds.

I hope this helps. We look forward to assisting you further with this if need be.
