I was wondering what tool (if any available) I could use to design a search that would be a little more advanced than a regular search bar. Trying to create a search widget, search form whatever you wanna call it where you enter your search keyword in 1 field and then have a second field to add location (city, zip code) and on top of that add pre-filled text boxes (let’s say three) that you can select by putting a check mark next to the box. So in the end you’re looking at keyword search in a specific location/zip with additional preferences set by box a, b and/or c… I only seem to be able to find very basic one box search bars.

Thank you for your question on adding additional search criteria in the search widget. The default search widget for WordPress does not have these types of features. You will want to take a look at the Plugins directory for WordPress and search for the keyword ‘Advanced Search’. This will provide a list of plugins you can look through to see if any of them meet your requirements.
Kindest Regards,
