I’m coming from a publications background and I am used to having character styles that you can apply to portions of text within a paragraph. I need to know the best way to do that in BoldGrid.

Specifically, I need to change only the italic attribute on a book title. I’d like to make sure I add it in such a way that if we change the default paragraph font the italic attribute will remain for that text but that it will pick up the new font selection. I see that I can add it manually (selecting Text and then italic) or add it with a Span. When I use Span, it appears that it is preserving all the other text attributes when I only want to change the italic.

Is there a recommended way of accomplishing this?

    Thanks,
    Debra

    Hi Debra,

Thanks for reaching out with your BoldGrid Post and Page Builder questions.  My apologies it looks like this reply was still saved as a draft and never published.  You should be able to change the font of specific text and titles by highlighting the text you would like to change and create a new element in your text.

create a span with post and page builder

So after highlighting the text click the double sided arrow icon to create a span.  At this point you can change the properties of this text without effecting any global settings.

I hope this helps please let us know if you have any other questions!
