When I set up my site, I didn’t know about the staging feature. So, I set it up as active. Now that I have learned about it, I want to copy (so I don’t have to rebuild) my active site to the staging site. After that, I will make all my changes to staging and then push them to the active site.
Even if this functionality is not built in to BoldGrid, is there a work around to accomplish it one time? When will it be added?
If I am not able to do this, I will have to move to another product.
Thanks in advance.

There is no built-in functionality to take an active site and make it into a staging site. What you can do is load the same theme/inspiration, then for all pages/posts, go into the text editor, copy all of the entries in the page/post, and then paste them into the corresponding page in the staging version of the theme/inspiration. You would have to do this for every page and post in order to copy it over. That would be the easiest way to accomplish what you’re trying to do.
I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.
Regards,
Arnel C.

The workaround would be extremely time-consuming. I feel it’s like a step back in time and now regret having my site designed using boldgrid.

Many of the features we have implemented since the initial release are the result of thoughtful feedback. It’s possible your particular use case is already being considered for an improved feature. Of course, a large plugin suite has a lot of moving parts, so new features go through a rigorous development and testing process. But we always appreciate feedback.
June 1, 2018 at 5:04 pm #24433Anonymous UserMemberI just did a search with the same question Alan had, because I also want to copy my active site as a staging site so I can work on it at my leisure before launching it as an active site. And like Alan, I am very surprised this feature does not exist. It seems obvious. Of course, I am a novice, so I suppose there are complications I don’t understand. But it sure seems to make sense to have that option.
