At https://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-make-a-newspaper-4-column-block/ Jesse Owens gave a link that brought me here. 17 months later, I still have the same problem. I use Westview theme, and I want a simple block that emulates a simple text-based newspaper. I spent hours downloading recommendations, but all are “artsy” with lots of wasted space. The retro look of a newspaper will stand out, and allow more content per square inch.
I’m OK with getting the HTML from another theme, but lack the HTML skills to write from scratch.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with this for so long. It might be worth considering if Westview is the right theme for what you’re trying to accomplish. There are a lot of themes out there that are specifically designed to emulate a newspaper, and while I know redesigning your site with a new theme is a lot of work, you can use Cloud WordPress to experiment with the various themes out there for this.
