    Hi,

For some reason https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/local-sitemap.xml is showing an 404 error.

I am not sure if this is a caching error of if local-sitemap.xml hasn’t been created yet. (The RankMath Local SEO module is currently disabled, but the settings still show minimum Local SEO fields.)

Could you please check is the following settings in W3 Total Cache are ok:

    Performance > page cache >

    Never cache the following pages:

    ([a-z0-9_\-]*)?\.xml
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\.(xml|xsl|html)(\.gz)?
    index\.php
    sitemap(_index)?\.xml(\.gz)?
    wp-.*\.php

    Non-trailing slash pages:

    ([a-z0-9_\-]+)?sitemap\.xsl
    [a-z0-9_\-]+-sitemap([0-9]+)?\.xml(\.gz)?
    sitemap(_index)?\.xml(\.gz)?

Cache the specified pages even if they don’t have trailing slash.

(NOTE: shoudn’t this be removed? As I don’t want these to cache?)

    Purge sitemaps: ([a-z0-9_\-]*?)sitemap([a-z0-9_\-]*)?\.xml

Specify a regular expression that matches your sitemaps.

(NOTE: Is this still recommended? As I don’t want these to cache?)

    Performance > minify > Advanced >

    Never minify the following pages:

    sitemap(_index)?\.xml(\.gz)?
    [a-z0-9_\-]*sitemap[a-z0-9_\-]*\.(xml|xsl|html)(\.gz)?
    ([a-z0-9_\-]*)?\.xml

    Thanks!

    Hello Mel,

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.
This is not related to the W3 Total Cache plugin.
The sitemap URL is throwing 404 because it does not exist on your server or by that name. The Rankmath generated sitemap works:
    https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/sitemap_index.xml

Once again, this is not because of the W3TC.

    Thanks!

    Hi Marko,

THanks for the reply. The local sitemap (local-sitemap.xml) will be created at a later stage when RankMath settings are enabled for local SEO.

Could you pease let me know if my settings as described in my last post are ok so the local sitemal will not be cached later on. (And if the local sitemap would be covered in the code provided.)

    Performance > page cache >

    Never cache the following pages

Non-trailing slash pages (NOTE: shoudn’t this be removed? As I don’t want these to cache?)

Purge sitemaps (again, ist this necessary as not cached?)

Performance > minify > Advanced > Never minify the following pages

    Thanks!

    Hey Mel,

Yes, the settings are just fine. There is no need to make any changes.
    Thanks!
