Hi, I am looking at purchasing your plugin to replace WP Rocket. Just tossing up between yours and WP Optimize.

What image optimisation does W3 Total Cache do? Is it just webp or does it also optimise thegif, png sand jpg images? Or do I need a separate image optimiser like Smush or Imagify?

Also does it optimise the database?

    Cheers

    Hello Steve,

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
The W3 Total Cache optimizes all images with the webp conversion. Meaning, that all available images that you have on your website can be converted by the W3TC to serve as webp, including jpg and png.
One of the aspects of image optimization is also lazyloading ability.

Can you please clarify what type of image optimization you are looking for?

As for the DB optimization, W3 Total Cache does not optimize DB, however, W3 Total Cache offers the ability to cache the DB requests, and Onjects using DB Caching and Object Caching. The best would be to use memory-based caching like Redis or Memcached for those features.

I hope this answers your question and please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!
