    Hi,

I did a website test and the results say “1 resource is being preloaded, but is not used during page load.”

    The file is /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/js/lazyload.min.js

I have lazy loading enabled in my W3 Total Cache settings. Is is not working properly? How do I check and fix any problems regarding this?

    Thanks
    Mel

    Hello Mel,

I’ve checked your website and the Lazyload is working just fine. If you check the images they have class=”gb-image gb-image-9c061411 lazy loaded” so Lazyload is working as it should. This warning is triggered due to the fact that the file was also minified.
I can see that you also have the minify enabled.
Can you please try adding the following to W3 Total Cache Performance>Minify>Advanced>”Never minify the following JS files:”
    /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/js/lazyload.min.js
Save all settings and purge the cache and see if the problem persists.
    Thanks!

    Hi Marko,

Thanks for your reply and checking my website. You said Lazyload is working ok.

I followed your above instructions for Performance>Minify>Advance, saved settings and purges all caches. However, I an still getting the same warning in the website test. I am also still getting another warning with sifferent website test which says I should defer offscreen images on 17 pages.

I am also getting a warning in the website test that the Largest Contentful Paint is high (over 2.5s). The element driving your LCP is a background image. https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/wave_transparent_3.png
(This image is only 17KB! Something is not right here.

What would you recommend to do?

    Thanks,
    Mel

    Hello Mel,

    Thank you for your feedback.
First of all, this is just a warning and it does not impact the performance of your website. Nothing to worry about. Next, I do see the warning in the console, so there is a chance that either you did not the proper path to the file: /wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/pub/js/lazyload.min.js or you have not added it to the correct place so please share the Performance>Minify>Advanced>” Never minify the following JS files:”
Please make sure that you saved all settings and purged the cache once the path was added and please share the screenshot of the Performance>Minify page.
I am not sure where you are performing the tests, however, in Google Page speed the score is amazing
    https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-www-hundetraining-mit-roya-at/yo7y7ut19g?hl=en&form_factor=desktop

I am also seeing no report related to the image you are mentioning impacting the performance.
    Thanks!

    Hi Marco,
Here is the screenpic of Performance>Minify>Advanced>” Never minify the following JS files:”
    https://snipboard.io/wANdEl.jpg

I saved all settings and purged the cache.

The pagespeed test you did was for the coming soon page which is currently set to the website via the WP Maintenance Plugin for https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/
The secret access link to the website is https://www.hundetraining-mit-roya.at/?my1test
For I website test I have to turn off maintenance mode and purge caches. I also select Regenerate CSS Files in the GenerateBlocks plugin. (Force your external CSS files to regenerate next time their page is loaded.)

    Thanks
    Mel

    Hello Mel,

    Thank you for your feedback.
I’ve checked the screenshot you shared and you added the path to the file to “Never minify the following pages:” instead of “Never minify the following JS files:”.
You should add it to the field below, save all settings and purge the cache.
    Please check the screenshot below:
    JS exception

    Thanks!
