I have the scheduler turned off for back ups. I saw the disk space usage on my site jump yesterday. When I went to check what was going on, I found that total upkeep had created five backups a hour apart. What would cause it to do this? The last one was yesterday at 9:25 AM.

    Hi Liz,

Thanks for reaching out with your Total Upkeep questions.  Something seems to be triggering your  backups this could be tied to something like an existing cron job on your server or automatic update configuration.

We actually have a video on how to find what exactly triggered your backup.  Please take a look and try the steps in the video.

Let us know if you have any questions! We’re looking forward to reviewing your findings and assisting you further with this.

I watched the video on how to tell what triggered the backup. My dashboard does not show if it was auto, manual, or scheduled. When I open the view details, there is no more info link.

Hi Liz, the video displays 3 backups that have already been configured and renamed so your dashboard won’t actually display it that way.

Your backup file should look something like this: archive-XXXXXXXX.log find your most recent archive file and click more info. If the more info link does not work please send us a screenshot of the “more info” page so that we can have a look.

    Thanks Liz

All of the logs stop at about 86%. There are a few that stop at 1%. Here is the last log from the series of backups.

    Hi Liz,

Somehow our thread was deleted but no worries I still have your information.

Your backups are 4.3GB+ and php is having a problem getting the log out of the backup to get all information associated with it. That explains why there’s no extra info in the space usually shown in “more info”.

We’d identified a solution for this but it will require a quick patch and update. Please standby and we contact you the moment this patch release goes out. You can track the status of the bug request here – https://github.com/BoldGrid/boldgrid-backup/issues/586

Thanks for working through this with us Liz!

    Hi Liz,

I was informed that the patch has gone out for this. Please update your Total Upkeep plugin and allow the backup to run again. Once the backup is complete check the “View Details” < "More Info" section and it should show you what's triggering the backup now. Thank you for your patience!

It has been a while since we communicated about this problem. I went to run a backup today and it failed. I sometimes get a notification that it fails, but when I check the backup archives, it is there as a success. I went to check and found that there were several backups that I had not triggered. I still have automatic backups turned off. It started this morning at 6:30 am eastern time and ran every hour until I caught it at 10:30 am. I disabled the plug in and went to delete the extra files from my server. I found a lot of system_zip_filelist files that have been created in the past few days. I took screenshots to have record, but deleted them because they were maxing out my server.
I still do not have a more info on the backup details for the archived backups. I have attached a screenshot of that as well.

    Hi Liz,

Thanks for reaching back out although I’m sorry to hear you’re still experiencing this.  Did the issue just start again or has it been occurring the whole time.  Was some change like a recent update that you think could have triggered these auto backups to run again?
