Another theme had this issue and I tried the tips it suggested, making sure that I can use the editor and that the home page template was set correctly–those are the same but I can’t add call to action back. I tried to do it from the admin page too and its not listed as an option.

Sorry for the issue with the Call to Action. Do you have a large Site Title? It’s possible that the site title font is simply pushing the call to action down the page so that it’s not visible. If you can provide us a URL we can take a quick look. Remember that you can click on Custom Font for the Site Title and change the size of the font (or change the font) using the Customize option.
