I hope you can help me with an SEO question. I recently asked a similar but different question, but failed to ask this specifically.

If I HAVE a page title, but un-click the option to display it, search engines still see it? Will not displaying it adversely affect my SEO efforts?
To clarify: The page has been named, so there is a Page Title, but there will be no page title for visitors to see. (For me, this pertains mostly to the Front Page.)

    Hi Alan-
By default, the page’s title is the <H1> for the page, and the H1 element is generally regarded as important for SEO.

If you hide the page title, you should make sure that you include an H1 header somewhere in your page’s content. This might actually work to your benefit, because the word “home” on a home page is really not a very good H1, since it really doesn’t say anything about what the content of the page is about.

That is very helpful, Jesse. Thanks a bunch!

I’m so close to being finished building my website I can taste it. But I’m not quite there, and I’ll be sending you a couple more questions soon!
(Please put up with me just a little longer!)
    🙂
