I’m trying to move the site that I built in BoldGrid to my hosting site, Inmotion, in order to replace my old website (I backed up the site via Total Upkeep, downloaded the backup and uploaded it to Inmotion). But Inmotion is getting this error notice:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/greenr5/bg.johnfarbrother.com/wp-content/themes/crio/inc/boldgrid-theme-framework/includes/class-boldgrid-framework-comments.php on line 270Here is what the guy at Inmotion said he’s done:
The WordPress core files were updated and verify checksums. No available updates are present for plugins, the Crio them was updated after the Fatal error was shown with no resolution.Any thoughts on what the problem is and how to fix it?
Thanks!
March 28, 2023 at 11:37 am #84141JohnGuestThe topic line for my help request was changed. I wouldn’t say I’m getting an error with Total Upkeep. I simply used Total Upkeep to backup the website I built and then download it so I could bring it into my hosting site. The error is happening when my hosting site tries to get my website up and running.
The error is:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘)’ in /home/greenr5/bg.johnfarbrother.com/wp-content/themes/crio/inc/boldgrid-theme-framework/includes/class-boldgrid-framework-comments.php on line 270
I have zero tech knowledge, so I’m guessing it’s not as simple as there being an end parentheses on line 270 where there shouldn’t be an end parentheses and it should be deleted. But is it that simple? And if so, where would I find this line 270 and the interloping parentheses?
March 28, 2023 at 11:57 am #84149Brandon CKeymasterHi John,
Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay on this. It seems you’re using Total Upkeep to restore a backup from a demo or staging area on to your new InMotion Hosting server.
You mentioned “The error is happening when my hosting site tries to get my website up and running”. Are you all attempting to manually restore the Total Upkeep backup to a new instance of WordPress on the InMotion server?
If not, can you let us know exactly how you’re attempting to restore the backup and at what point exactly are you receiving your error message with Crio Pro WordPress theme?
We look forward to assisting you further with this!
March 29, 2023 at 9:48 am #84164JohnGuestThanks, Brandon. Yes, the InMotion guy says we were attempting to manually restore the Total Upkeep backup to a new instance of WordPress on the InMotion server (I’m sort of the middle-man here because I have absolutely zero technical aptitude).
March 29, 2023 at 9:52 am #84229Brandon CKeymasterThanks John,
I definitely understand where you’re coming from but no worries. Because you host with InMotion (one of our premium partners) you can log in to your BoldGrid Central account using the same credentials you’d use to access your InMotion Hosting account and select the question mark icon in the top right to access our BoldGrid Premium support.
In premium support you can give us permission to access your website where we can inspect the issue directly.
Thanks John, we’ll see you there!
March 30, 2023 at 10:39 am #84251JohnGuestThanks, Brandon. I actually, last night, began rebuilding the site within InMotion (which is probably how I should have built it to begin with). It’s more or less just copying and pasting the code, so all seems good so far. I’m sure, though, I’ll have a question or two down the road. Thanks, again.
