Hi,
I’m working on my site speed and running https://www.webpagetest.org/; the initial speeds are fine, but the repeat loading speeds are 12+ seconds long, with tons of yellow bars, which I assume means my caching is not working correctly? I have gone through the W3 Total Cache set up procedure, and also have Cloudflare CDN connected via extensions. Is there an obvious problem I can correct? Would love some guidance as to where to go from here to correct this! TIA!
September 11, 2023 at 12:11 pm #105237Marko VasiljevicKeymasterHello Cynthia,
Thank you for reaching out.
I’ve tested your website and the speed is great with the W3 Total Cache.
I’ve uploaded the Google Page speed score from Lighthouse, and the score is awesome.
The speed is the same using the webpagetest in all 3 rungs when I tested.
The “yellow bars” are related to the external files loading on your website (facebook, google ads, etc)
September 11, 2023 at 12:44 pm #105239CynthiaGuestHi,
Are you looking at mobile? This is what I see when I run webpagetest.org: First run LCP: 2.44 sec, Repeat View: 11.812 secSeptember 11, 2023 at 12:44 pm #105240CynthiaGuestI just re-ran page speed insights and it came back as Mobile/50, Desktop/59. How are we seeing such different results?
September 11, 2023 at 12:48 pm #105248Marko VasiljevicKeymasterThank you for your feedback.
The results may vary, however I’ve attached the test from mobile as well below:
The issues may come from the external – 3rd party resources.
In your case:blogherads.com 253.4 KiB 188.6 KiB
/static/blogherads.js(ads.blogherads.com)

/gtag/js?id=G-LKXD9SZMMZ(www.googletagmanager.com)

31.5 KiBAs you an see above these files are loading from external servers and cannot be optimized because they are not on your server.
September 12, 2023 at 9:14 am #105307CynthiaGuestThanks I’m reaching out to SheMedia- I think there is a conflict between W3 Cache and their ad files. Hopefully that will get it sorted. They mentioned their files need to be excluded or they will cause slowdowns and conflicts. Following up on that.
September 13, 2023 at 1:25 pm #105428CynthiaGuestHi, It looks like my js is not minifiying- can you help? I’ve checking with SheMedia but haven’t gotten any explicit suggestions as to how to fix this. I’m told that the long repeat run indicated that the cache isn’t working properly.
September 13, 2023 at 1:38 pm #105475Marko VasiljevicKeymasterHello Cynthia,
Every test I performed suggests that the website is in optimal condition.
The time to the first byte is excellent and there are no issues with caching. Additionally, you are serving the website from Cloudflare.
Please see the Gtmetrix report below:
As for Minify, You are using Cloudflare Minify as I can see, however, you can check if Minify is enabled in the Performance>General settings. Please note that is not recommended to use more than one minify solution.
Thanks!September 14, 2023 at 12:28 pm #105512CynthiaGuestIt would be great if as you say, everything is optimal. I don’t understand how you are seeing these results when I’m seeing Mobile/46 desktop/67 and failing core web vitals. How can we be seeing such different results?
September 14, 2023 at 12:31 pm #105570Marko VasiljevicKeymasterHello Cynthia,
As I’ve mentioned before, the problem with GPS is the external resources that are loading on your website.
And as I explained before, the 3rd party resources cannot be optimized by the W3 Total Cache.
If you check the opportunity tabs in google page speed you can see the following:
Removing those resources would mean removing gta, facebook and any other scripts that are loading on your website. - AuthorPosts
