Hello DonMCS,
Thank you for your question about the header widget.
There are a few different ways to get the effect you are looking for. My preferred method, which I think is also the simplest method, is to add the “Above Site Title” widget area add a “Visual Editor” widget.
By default, the “Above Site Title” widget area will be transparent if you use the “Visual Editor” widget.
