I have added text (html) content to widget areas before but all of a sudden I cannot add content for new widgets. There are empty widget areas but when I click on the Add button, nothing happens.

Thanks for your question about adding HTML content to widget areas. I was not able to replicate the issue you’re seeing in any of my test installations. Do you have any steps I could take to re-generate the issue you’re seeing? Or, do you have any information about what might have changed before the issue occurred? There was a recent WordPress release. Were you able to install that upgrade?
Best,
Christopher M.
January 3, 2017 at 9:37 pm #24707redshi10bgMemberI do have the most recent updates to WordPress (4.7) and Boldgrids Inspirations (1.3). In fact, prior to the updates, I did not have this problem although it was several months ago that I added my last widget. My steps were to click on Customize/Widgets/Header-Footer Widgets/ and then pick an empty widget area on my page. I then get the “Add a Widget” button which is what normally should happen. But even though the button is there, it is inactive and does not react to my clicking it. If I click on a widget that already has some content, the content is visible and I can open it up, edit it, etc. But I cannot add new content to a new widget. Hope this helps explain my problem.

We followed what you did but we are unable to duplicate the problem that you are facing. Can you please specify the theme that you’re using? If I add a Widget, it appears in one of the columns that I have set in the process of adding the widget. What type of widget are you adding? Please provide us this information and we can look into it further for you.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
Regards,
Arnel C.
