When I want to create a new download, I see your logo trying to connect to somewhere I don’t know about and thus I can’t move forward until it has apparently moved on, any ideas

We just set up WP Download Manager in a Crio dev environment and did not experience any issues creating or downloading the file. Where exactly is the download creation process stalling out for you?
You should also verify that that your WordPress Core, Crio Theme, WP File Manager plugin and BoldGrid Post and Page Builder page editor plugin are all up to date.

The only place associated with the with the WP Download plugin in the page editor is the “Insert Url” text box. Is this the area you’re having trouble with? – https://ibb.co/3TFjV9H
Other than that you’d use the page editor controls to add text to your page. – https://ibb.co/dbn7pyR.
