Whats your domain name? We can’t troubleshoot the issue of “Appearance” not showing up in the admin dashboard with the information you provided.
October 27, 2017 at 7:54 am in reply to: I am getting a Parse error at line 51 trying to activate the Boldgrid plug in #23499adminMemberGood morning,
Thanks for your question regarding a parse syntax error on line 51 of the inspiraiton.php file. I would suggest re-installing BoldGrid and see if the error persists. Let us know the outcome and after that if the error persists, we will help you troubleshoot it further. Also, what version of PHP are you running?
I hope this helps! Thanks!

adminMemberGood morning Folkert,
Whats your domain name? I’d like to look into this further for you. There’s a number of reasons this error could display so I’d like to troubleshoot it further using your domain name.
Thanks!

adminMemberHi David,
Thanks for the great question about moving a WordPress/BoldGrid website to a new domain. I guess the first question is, are you moving servers as well? The process isn’t terribly different but there are a few nuances. The process itself is exactly the same as any WordPress website. Hopefully, I can guide you through it (these steps were taken directly for the WordPress Codex).
- Download your existing site files.
- Export your database – go into MySQL and export the database.
- Move the backed up files and database into a new folder – somewhere safe – this is your site backup.
- Log into the site you want to move and go to Settings > General, then change the URLs. (ie from http://example.com/ to http://example.net ) – save the settings and expect to see a 404 page.
- Download your site files again.
- Export the database again.
- Edit wp-config.php with the new server’s MySQL database name, username, and password.
- Upload the files.
- Import the database on the new server.
Let us know if you need anything else or if you have any further questions.
Thanks!

August 24, 2017 at 7:42 am in reply to: Bug report support forum: notification emails for random other posts #23806adminMemberGood morning,
Thanks for your feedback! We appreciate your taking time to provide it. The email issue has seemed to begin recently and we’re working on fixing it. Please accept out apologies for all of the emails. You are correct the site, only displays 5 most recent questions in the right column widget. If you go to:
https://www.boldgrid.com/support/questions/
You will be able to see a running list of every question as well. I understand it’s not a well-publicized link. We’ll work on adding it to the site so it can easily be found and referenced. We certainly appreciate you helping others in the forum as well.
Thanks again!

adminMemberGood afternoon,
So it sounds like there’s potentially an issue with your WordPress instance communicating with our asset server. What is your domain name and we can look into this further for you? Also, you can submit a bug report in wp-admin which will send us more information that won’t be in public view which could be beneficial.
I hope this helps. Let us know if you have anymore questions.
Thanks!

adminMemberGood morning,
Thanks for your question about getting an error message about gd-jpeg. There’s a number of reasons you may be getting this error message. Here’s a few listed below.
- Check your disk space. Be sure you have enough free disk space. You may have to reach out to your hosting provider to check this.
- Check your memory limit for PHP
- Check the post_max_size and the upload_max_filesize settings (you can set more in your .htaccess file)
- Also, you may have tried to create an image from jpeg file that’s not actually a jpeg file. Even though the image may have the file extension as jpeg it’s possible it’s something else like a png file.
Are you getting this error message all the time? Is it only with a specific file? Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

adminMemberHello,
BoldGrid contains 100’s of themes and their variants. It’s not designed to use with other WordPress themes. Depending on the theme, you may be able to use the BoldGrid Page and Post editor, but that would be on a theme by theme basis. Keep in mind, BoldGrid is much more than a page and post editor. BoldGrid is a drag and drop website builder built on WordPress that’s fast and easy to use.
You can try out our demo as well to see all the different themes that are built into the BoldGrid experience.
Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks!

adminMemberGood morning,
Thanks for your question about what happens if you remove BoldGrid. BoldGrid is not a hosting environment but a suite of WordPress plugins. You are free to move a BoldGrid website to any hosting environment you want. Yes, if you create a full backup of the files and database you can move it anywhere. One of the easiest ways to move the site would be to use the BoldGrid Backup Plugin. Since BoldGrid doesn’t use any shortcodes, if you disable the plugin it still will function on the front end.
I hope this helps! Let us know if you have any more questions.
Thanks!

adminMemberGood morning,
Thanks for your question about the contact form on your BoldGrid website not sending the contents of your form in an email. Do you have a URL we can look at and test out? Any additional information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Also, have you tried changing the email address the form sends to and see if it work then? It could possibly be the emails are being blocked or labeled as spam.
Thanks!

adminMemberHello nmason,
Thank you for your question on esignature compatibility with BoldGrid. The best way to test whether the issue is with BoldGrid compatibility is to disable the BoldGrid plugins and see if it works. If so, then the issue would be with one of the BoldGrid plugins. If not, then it may be another plugin or the signature plugin itself that is the issue.

adminMemberHello crhdigital,
The Call to Action on the Wedge was designed to be on the right. There are basically left and right grids there, not a center. If you wish to reset the Call to Action to the right side, use the code below:
<div class=”row call-to-action-wrapper”>
<div class=”col-md-7″></div>
<div class=”col-md-5″>
<div class=”call-to-action”>
<h2 class=”slogan”>TITLE</h2><hr />
<p class=”tagline”>Text body goes here.</p>
<p class=”p-button-primary”><a class=”button-primary” href=”contact-us”>CONTACT US TODAY</a></p></div>
</div>
</div>The available menu locations are the current setting (called the Primary location), the Header Upper (which is just a bit higher than the default, but still on the right), and Above Header (will center the menu at the very top of the page). You can set the menu location from within the menu tab of the Customizer.

If you are hosting with WordPress.com, then you will not be able to use BoldGrid. This is due to how WordPress.com allows plugins. They only give you the ones they want and you cannot add any others.
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Doug0212,
Thank you for your question regarding setting your blog page to be shown on the home page of your website. You can do so by logging into your WordPress / BoldGrid dashboard, and then going to Settings > Blog. On that page you will see an option for “Front page”. Simply set that to your blog page, and it will be displayed on your home page.
Gratefully,
Casey B.
adminMemberHello crhdigital,
Thank you for your question about setting your header to be persistent. BoldGrid does not have this sort of functionality by default, but you may be able to find a WordPress plugin that will provide this sort of functionality. For example, I did a quick Google search, and was able to find a well reviewed plugin called “Sticky Header”. You will want to review your options, and decide which of your available options provides the functionality that you need.
Gratefully,
Casey B.
adminMemberHello crhdigital,
Thank you for your question regarding preventing web crawlers from indexing your staging site. Setting the pages to private should prevent them from being indexed, but you can also set your robots.txt file to not allow indexing, if you wish.

adminMemberHello Brenda, If it is happening from more than one computer, it is likely a server side issue. You will want to have the designer enable the error reporting on WordPress to see the specific error. I am guessing this is a memory issue, though the error reporting should tell you exactly.
The Customizer can sometimes demand more memory, so you will want to first try and increase the allowed php memory in the php.ini file for the account. Your designer should have no problem changing the setting for you.adminMemberHello Brenda,
Thank you for your question about using the BoldGrid Customizer. What web browser are you using? Does this issue happen in different web browsing programs, or just one? Have you made any changes or updates to your website recently? Do you have any 3rd party WordPress plugins?

adminMemberHello,
Thank you for your question regarding the Ninja Forms WordPress plugin. The basic option for Ninja Forms does not require a license, but they do offer faster support and additional features if you wish to pay for them.

adminMemberHelo Raj,
If your host is a BoldGrid sponsor host, then you can purchase the coins through them. If you got BoldGrid from the site and/or your host is not a sponsor host, then you can purchase coins through BoldGrid Central.
Just click on BoldGrid Central at the top of the page, then log in with your email account that is associated with BoldGrid.
After that, click on the Purchase Coins option form the dashboard, select the package you want, and fill out the billing information.
Once completed, the coins will be added to your BoldGrid account.

adminMemberHello dutchess,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with editing your pages. Are you getting any specific errors when editing? Is the page just not saving? Does it tell you it saved? Are you able to check from another network and device? What BoldGrid theme are you using? What version? What WordPress version are you using? Did the issue begin after any upgrade, theme change, or after adding a new plugin?Please answer as many questions as you can so we can attempt to duplicate the issue and troubleshoot it for you.
Kindest Regards,

adminMemberHello,
Thank you for your question about users signing up for your website while it is in maintenance mode. It is possible that bots may be accessing your ‘sign up’ page, or pages directly. Also, it may be that a webcrawler may be crawling pages that are still accessible, and making the other pages visible in search results. I would recommend contacting the WordPress community at http://wordpress.org/support for more assistance with this as well.

adminMemberHello,
Thank you for your question on footer contact information. That information is not in the updated theme versions. The contact information is specifically on the Contact page and no longer in the footer.
There are checkboxes to remove the different attributions in the footer area. That is located in the Advanced >> Footer Settings area.
You can also add your contact information as HTML in the custom HTML area for the footer if you wish. But the default information is now only in the Contact page in the newer versions.

adminMemberHello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with installing your Inspiration. There were some issues with connections to the data center housing our asset server at the end of the week and into the weekend. I believe that is what was causing the issue.
I was able to successfully install an Inspiration on my own server, and the issue seems to have been resolved with the data center. You should be able to install an Inspiration theme without issue.Kindest Regards,

adminMemberHello Harris,
Thank you for your question about activating BoldGrid. Have you input your BoldGrid connect key? If not, we have instructions for getting your BoldGrid connect key. If so, is this site publicly available?

adminMemberHello David Bass,
Thank you for your question on how to add buttons horizontally. I am not sure of your specific situation, but within the Page editor, you simply add the buttons side by side. For instance, the code below will set two buttons horizontally (on a desktop screen), with one space in between.
<a class=”button-primary” href=”#”>Button 1</a> <a class=”button-secondary” href=”#”>Button 2</a>
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Laura,
Thank you for your question on how to fix a blocked background image. What specifically are you trying to accomplish on your page that the Background tab in the customizer does not allow?

adminMemberHello jthomascarlson,
Thank you for your question about spacing differences on your BoldGrid website. It appears that your padding is set differently between the DIV HTML tags with the class “entry-content” for these two pages. While it is not clear why these pages are different, if you want them to be the same you can add some custom CSS to override the current values.

adminMemberGood morning,
So what you’re trying to do isn’t native to WordPress. Typically, menus are displayed on all pages as it’s part of the header of the website. With that being said, it can be accomplished through CSS. Here’s a great resource from WordPress.org explaining how to do so. If you provide a link to the page you are working on, we can actually help you with the exact code to place in the WordPress backend to stop the menu from displaying.
Please feel free to reply back with a link to your landing page and we’ll be happy to assist you further. I hope this helps. Thanks!

adminMemberHello cclowe,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your Ninja Form submit button text alignment. I am not able to duplicate the behavior on my own site. What theme are you using? What version of WordPress? What version of BoldGrid? What version of Ninja Forms? Are you using any other plugins besides the BoldGrid suite? The more information you can provide, the more closely I can emulate my site to yours so I can try and duplicate and correct the issue.
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Shauna,
Sorry to hear you are having issues with your category link for your blog. Unfortunately, without any specific examples of the site or themes/plugins involved, I cannot give any direction. I am unable to duplicate the behavior on my own site.
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Laura,
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with aligning images on your site. Aligning images precisely can be difficult. It is done by altering either the CSS or the specific HTML code around the images. If you are inclined to play with it, you can view the code by clicking on the “Text” tab on the editor. That is the actual code that makes the page look like it does. Fidgeting with it may let you get them aligned properly. Getting two images to line up can be frustrating.
Without seeing the specific page, I am not able to test anything to try and give an exact solution.
Kindest Regards,

adminMemberHello Jake,
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with your BoldGrid installation. When the installation hangs at that point, it is usually due to the server the media is coming from. We are not currently able to duplicate the issue, did it seem to correct itself? Are you able to install BoldGrid Inspirations without issue now?
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Sum1,
Thank you for your questions on using BoldGrid for a one page landing site. Yes, you can use any of the BoldGrid themes as a single page site. After the installation, simply remove the extra pages and ensure they are not in the site menu.
As for your question on WooCommerce compatibility: so far, all BoldGrid themes seem to work with WooCommerce without issue.
Kindest Regards,

adminMemberHello Marlene,
Thank you for your question on removing the border lines for the Call to Action section of the Diced theme. I spoke with one of the developers and this is a known issue that occurs under specific conditions. This is slated to be corrected soon.
In the meantime, there is a fix that you can implement. You will need to navigate to the <a href=”https://www.boldgrid.com/support/using-the-customizer/advanced-customizer-options/”>Custom CSS editor</a> and enter the following code:
.palette-primary [id^=”black-studio-tinymce”].widget_black_studio_tinymce.widget.well .widget-title {
display: none;
}
.palette-primary [id^=”black-studio-tinymce”].widget_black_studio_tinymce.widget.well {
background: transparent;
border: none;
padding: 0;
}Once you paste the code in, be sure to save and publish the site. The border should disappear.
Kindest Regards,
Scott MadminMemberHello Niki,

adminMemberHello pmicznik,
The error logs are not in the WordPress dashboard itself. They can be accessed through your hosting dashboard. You will need to locate the error logs in the file manager of the hosting control panel.
You can also disable plugins within the plugins folder by renaming them. You can test by renaming them one by one and testing the site. If it is still broken, name the plugin back and then rename the next one. Once the site works, you will know the last plugin you renamed was causing an issue and can leave it disabled.
Kindest Regards,S

Thank you for your question about using Jetpack with BoldGrid. Please keep in mind that other extensions may cause adverse effects when using BoldGrid. What error are you seeing in the error logs?

adminMemberHello,
Thank you for your question on changing the main font color for the Evolv theme.
The main text color has two colors, black and white. These are set according to the palette selected from the Colors tab. For dark backgrounds the text turns white and for lighter backgrounds the color turns black.
There is not a way to manually override or change the color, however.
Kindest Regards,
