Arnel CMemberHello David,
Thanks for the question about creating a popup using BoldGrid. This is functionality outside the scope of the plugin. However, BoldGrid is simply a plugin for WordPress. There are options for creating popups such as the free WordPress PopUp plugin. Check out this <a href=”replace1” rel=”nofollow” target=”_blank”>article</a> about using it for your popup needs.

Sorry to hear about the problems with the BoldGrid site not displaying correctly on your desktop PC. We would need to have a URL in order to view and troubleshoot the issue to see if it can be fixed. Typically, the theme should be auto sizing (as it is responsive) to the display being used to view the site. Please provide us the URL for your site and we can look into the issue in more depth.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel C.September 21, 2017 at 12:19 pm in reply to: I need guidance on how to grant a role to 3rd party safely for edits and consulting. #23689Arnel CMemberHello Jeff,
Thanks for your question about user roles within BoldGrid. If you’re going to grant other users access to your BoldGrid site, then it’s best to remember that your BoldGrid website is a WordPress site (BoldGrid is a plugin for WordPress). You can find clearly defined user role definitions here. The roles are not based on the staging and published sites. Also, my suggestion is that you make a complete backup of your installation. That way, you won’t lose anything regardless of what a 3rd party does. In order to make changes to the site structures, you would need to give Administrator roles. Editors typically have access to make changes to posts and pages. The user editor plugin should allow you either adjust or create roles as well.
I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance, please let us know!

Arnel C.September 21, 2017 at 12:06 pm in reply to: How can I increase the size of a logo on the home page title beyond 255? #23687Arnel CMemberHello Ram,
The logo size on a BoldGrid site is limited by the theme. If you’re trying to go beyond the size allocated in the theme, then you would need make custom changes to the template. As these are responsive templates, it is possible that you would be impacting the responsive layout of the theme because your trying to make the logo larger than the size permitted.
If you want to make the logo larger, either you must make custom changes to the theme, or you will need to use a different theme that has an area permitting you to make it larger.
You may also need to simply scale the size of the logo so that it is larger in the area provided by the theme. If you can provide us a path to the site, we can take a closer look.

Thanks for your question concerning the change of the header height in the Resolve theme. If you are going to add content to the template or change the core structure, then you will need to make changes to the thf]
To add HTML or PHP content to the theme header you would need to edit the header template. The BoldGrid documentation covers the topic of editing the header template in depth. It contains all the information on making the changes within the theme.If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.Arnel CMemberHello Jeff,
As this is not a default function of the themes for BoldGrid, you cannot immediately make that change. You would need to manually make that change by going into the CSS files and modifying the theme. If you wish to make manual changes, you are able to do so and you can use the BoldGrid Theme Guide as a reference.

Arnel C.September 20, 2017 at 8:59 am in reply to: In the text view of the BoldGrid Editor, I would like to see the HTML tags indented appropriately #23695Arnel CMemberHello Jeff,
The tags in the existing code are not indented for you. If you wish to have them indented, you can go into the code using the text editor and change the indentation for each page/post. You can also copy the code into a separate text editor and then make the indentations for the code there, then copy it back into the text editor. At present, even in a default WordPress installation, there is no automatic indentation of the code in text view nor any current plans to format existing code. I also verified this by looking at a default WordPress installation and viewing one of their sample pages.

Thanks for the question about embedding 360 pictures into your website. Probably the easiest and quickest way to do it is to use the Gallery plugin for BoldGrid. This will allow you to add 360 pictures fairly easily. If you don’t want them in one area you can always create multiple galleries.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Sandy,
The spacing between the header and content of your BoldGrid site can be adjusted through some custom CSS added in the Customizer. Check out the resolution for this earlier question. It will give you the code to enter that should help resolve the issue.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Jarod,
Thanks for the questions about adding multiple background images. Currently, the functionality will not let you add multiple background images unless you’re editing pages. There you can GridBlocks with multiple image backgrounds. You can see how to use the parallax effect (which uses multiple image backgrounds) in this article. For the front page, it will require that you scroll down until you see a different section. You can click on the editor in the right corner of that section and you’ll see a dialog pop up bringing you to the page editor.
After you get to the page editor, you need to click in the middle of the page in order to bring the menu up and you’ll see the option to change the background.
I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Arnel CMemberHello TDS,
Sorry for the issue with the Visual Editor Widget not working as well the issues with content not showing in text or visual mode. We would need more information in order to troubleshoot the issue. What version of WordPress are you using? What version of the BoldGrid plugins have you installed? Do you have other plugins loaded? If you want us to look at it, then we would need a URL and access to your account in order to assess the issue. Please provide us more information and we would be happy to look further into the issues.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Charles,
Sorry that you’re having problems with the Search. Can you please provide us more information about changes to your installation? You appear to have a redirect in your .htaccess file that may definitely be part of the issue. Did you put in the redirect or was it put in there for you? Provide a little more detail about your multiple installations and then we can investigate further.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel C.Arnel CMemberHello,
Thanks for your question about controlling line spacing within a paragraph. This is a fairly broad question as line spacing can include Alignment classes or other elements from Bootstrap that you can add directly into the TEXT editor side of the WordPress editor. You can find the information for BootStrap’s website here. You can also find out how to adjust line height. I hope this helps to explain how to make the change (s) that you wish to make.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Tina,
Sorry to hear you’re having problems with the forms in BoldGrid. We need a little more detail on how you’re typing into your forms. What theme/inspiration are you using? Did you create a custom form? If you could also provide the version of BoldGrid that you’re using, it would help. Typically the fields are white and the font is black. This is an example:
If you can please provide us a URL for where this is occurring, or a screenshot and further details, then we can investigate the matter further.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Mbrooks,
Apologies for the delay in getting you an answer for the issue. You almost had it actually. It was just a matter of drilling down a little bit more. I spoke with one of the developers to see what needed to be changed and this is what he stated:
.secondary-menu li a:hover, .secondary-menu li a:focus {
color: blue !important;
}
.secondary-menu li a {
color: red !important;
}It does need to be in the CSS editor. Remove the previous item you entered. The menu links have two colors. One for the color, and the second for the hover color. Since custom overrides won’t inherit colors in the customizer anyways – you can just throw !important there (as per the code above). so that makes secondary menu red and when you move mouse over it or toggle focus it is blue.
I hope that helps to answer your question!
Arnel CMemberHello Mark_pr,
Sorry for the continued issues with the change that you’re trying to make with the spacing on the title page. I spoke to about your request for customization to the spacing in the title and was gracious enough to provide a solution. We highly recommend using the Advanced CSS editor in the Customizer for BoldGrid. If you add the change there, then it will not be overwritten in any future updates.
Here’s what needs to be done for making your change:
@media (min-width: 992px) {
.call-to-action {
margin-bottom: 0;
}
}I hope that helps!
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello Dexter,
Thanks for the question. At this time the libraries for both the themes and gridblocks are integrated into the existing content. As we continue to move forward with development, premium features and libraries will become more distinct from the free features that are available to all users.
I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.

Arnel CMemberHello Dexter,
Thanks for your question about the Free vs. Premium version of BoldGrid. The best place to look at it and see the difference is on this page. There is a table that shows the feature differences.

Arnel CMemberHello Nmason@scsbroadband.com,
Sorry for the issue with the triangles in the background. I looked for a way to remove it and its tied into the code of the theme. There is no way to remove that effect using the functionality within BoldGrid. Apologies for the inconvenience.

Arnel CMemberHello BTierney,
If you have the rights to use the image, then go to your internet browser, put in the URL they provided to you and view the image. At this point, you can copy and paste the image so that you save a local copy and then upload to your site. The way they’re providing the link, it can’t be used a source for an image in HTML. It can be used a link where a viewer can click on the text and then see the image loaded, but it will display the TripAdvisor page. If you don’t have rights to use the image, I recommend not using it.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Matty,
Thanks for your comments. We will pass them along to the BoldGrid development team for evaluation.
Arnel CMemberHello Matty,
Sorry to hear that you were still having problems with the plugin. The plugin was originally made to be used in a hosted environment, so using it within the self-contained environment of MAMP or WAMP would be going beyond its original design intent. This was also true of moving changes between the staging and active versions. The staging site was made to be a separate area for creating a WordPress site. Typically, the Media library was the area to allow for sharing of images or videos. Moving changes from pages or posts would involve copying the code on the text page and then pasting it on the other site. If you’re looking for better ways to move changes or improve the plugin, then please provide suggestions and we can pass on your comments to the developers for consideration.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello again Matty D!

Arnel CMemberHello Testmonkey,
Provided that your pages all have room to add a widget in the header, you can add search widget to each page. If you want functionality beyond that, then you will need to use a WordPress plugin.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel CMemberHello Aaron,
Sorry for the problem with the Search widget. I checked this on a test site with my iPhone and I could not duplicate your error. Have you updated everything to the latest version and can you tell us how you are testing it? I’m logging into the test site, switching to the staging site, then testing the search function – on my iPhone 6. Please tell us how you’re generating the error after checking your versions. The latest version of BoldGrid should be 1.4.0.1.
Please provide us a little more information and we can look into the issue in more depth.
Regards,
Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello Aaron,
We would need to know how you built the links. If you could provide the links, it would help. I also have a query into the developers about it. It might be a limitation, as I have been able to duplicate the problem. If you could provide a URL, we can take a look. As soon as I get more information from the developers, I will update this post.
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello Bguisinger,
We’d have to see the images you’re referring to. If I were to answer based on typical BoldGrid functionality, I would say, “no” that is not possible. The themes are designed to be responsive. If you put in images, you would need stick with the same fonts and same image sizes in order to maintain the responsiveness. If it’s a problem with the theme, we would need to first examine your site. Please provide us a little more information if you wish for us to continue looking into the issue.
Kindest Regards,
Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello Aaron,
Thanks for the question about having your blog navigation only appear on blog pages and then having your shop navigation appear on your shop pages. The only way I can think of that happening with the native functionality within BoldGrid or WordPress is to have landing pages for the Blog site, the Shop, and a home page with links to both. You would have to create specific menus for each landing page that includes only the navigation for the sections you mentioned. Other than that, you would need to have a plugin where you can manage the different items of your menus. I hope that helps!
If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Arnel C.
Arnel CMemberHello Lena,
I do apologize for the delay in this answer. I looked at it yesterday and it appears my answer did not get saved. If you’re working with an image on a page, if you’re pulling it from media library, there 3 sizes that can be set (thumbnail, medium, large). These settings can be found in settings under Media. If you want to work with different sized images, then you can set the size of the image in BoldGrid using HTML in the image properties. I hope this helps to resolve the image issue. If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
Regards, Arnel C
Arnel CMemberHello Media,
Sorry for the problem with the menus not being able to be made 3 levels deep. I spoke with one of the BoldGrid developers. He said that this option would part of the next major release version of BoldGrid (1.5). Unfortunately, we have no ETA for the release. At this time, the menus are only 2 levels deep. Apologies that I don’t have a direct solution for the issue at this time. It is something that the next major release will include.
If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Kindest regards,
Arnel C.Arnel CMemberHello Sportslady180,
Sorry for the difficulty in using the BoldGrid interface. Drag-and-drop elements of BoldGrid do not apply to all parts of the interface. BoldGrid is a plugin for WordPress, adding features in addition to the normal WordPress functionality. The options are too numerous to add in a reply, but I can point you to the tutorials that provide guidance for using the interface. Please look at the overview here: BoldGrid Support Center. We also have videos that you can find here: YouTube – BoldGrid. If you have a specific function or option that you are trying to use, but you’re having difficulty, then please specify that issue and we can try to clarify it for you. If you want an example of drag-and-drop, you could look at adding gridblocks to a blank page/post. That process uses a drag-and-drop procedure.
I hope this helps to explain the issue. If you have any further questions, please let us know.
Kindest regards,
