I am having what I believe to be a similar issue. I have installed the theme in the staging environment and it appears correctly with I view it in Firefox. However when I view it in Safari on my Mac, or in Google, or IE on my PC, or on my iPhone, a white box covers the image. Here is a link to my staged site:
