Hello Teresa,
Thank you for contacting us about disconnecting BoldGrid from your site. Since BoldGrid runs in WordPress, you can just change the theme to a default one and deactivate the BoldGrid plugins. Here are the steps:
- In the BoldGrid Dashboard, click Customize then Change Themes.
- Roll your mouse over the Twenty Seventeen theme and click Activate.
- Click Plugins.
- Deactivate the BoldGrid plugins.
This will disable BoldGrid and leave you with a standard WordPress site, with the default WordPress theme.
Thank you,
John-Paul

JohnPaul BMemberHello Matt,
Thank you for contacting us about using the “Read More” option with BoldGrid. Unfortunately, the theme will often specify where the “read more” tag will go. But there is a workaround discussed in a similar question here.
Thank you,

Thank you for contacting us about linking to downloadable files. Here is our helpful guide on How to Add a PDF to a Page. Another option is to use WooCommerce to set up an online store, then offer electronic downloads for sale. You could also set the price to free.

JohnPaul BMemberHello Pablo,
When I test your site it is resolving successfully. If it is still not showing up in Google you can manually submit the URL’s to them here:
https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url
You can also use Google’s URL inspections tool or submit a sitemap to Google.
Thank you,

August 2, 2018 at 3:29 pm in reply to: How do I move the text to the right half of the screen? #22226JohnPaul BMemberHello Nik,
Thank you for contacting for help customizing your site. Unfortunately, WordPress does not allow vector images (.svg) by default. I recommend using the “Position” option in the Site Title & Logo Customizer since it allows you to adjust the location of the title. The amount you can adjust it depends on the specific theme you have chosen.
If you want to make changes other than what is included in the customizer you can use the Custom CSS Editor. This will primarily be used by a developer or designer, as it assumes familiarity with HTML, CSS, PHP, etc.
We received all of your questions and updates but you will not be able to see them until they have been moderated and approved. This is to reduce the amount of spam we receive.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberHello Brett,
Thank for contacting us about images not appearing on your live site. As a test, try disabling any non-BoldGrid plugins. If you are using any caching plugins or tools ensure you have cleared the cache. Error logs may also provide more specific clues into what is happening. We are happy to help troubleshoot further but will need more information such as a link to the specific site.
Thank you,

July 19, 2018 at 12:45 pm in reply to: Boldgrid will not increase number of visible product categories in my store. #22285JohnPaul BMemberHello John,
Thank you for contacting us about product categories not displaying on your site. When I checked the URL you provided, I noticed you are using the “Storefront” theme for WooCommerce. Unfortunately, if you are using a theme outside of the BoldGrid Inspirations, it is untested so all features may not work. I recommend using one of the official BoldGrid Themes available on the Inspirations page, such as Hifidel.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberHello Nick,

July 12, 2018 at 11:12 am in reply to: How to get BoldGrid to stop stripping out line breaks between paragraphs? #22310JohnPaul BMemberHi Dan,
Thank you for the additional information. We spent some time testing this and were unable to replicate the issue. We tested with several themes such as Callaway, Cobalt, and Pavilion. What specific theme are you choosing in the Inspiration?
As a test, try disabling non-BoldGrid plugins. This will help rule out an interfering plugin.
Displaying and logging PHP errors may also provide more specific information.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberHello Penny,

JohnPaul BMemberHello Ryan,
Thank you for contacting us about adding a mobile-specific javascript to a widget area. Unfortunately, WordPress does not have this functionality built-in and BoldGrid does not add this option. There are 3rd party plugins available that allow you to add javascript to widgets such as Widget Options, which actually allows you to create mobile-specific widgets without javascript.
You could possibly use the Custom JS & CSS editor to add mobile rules, but this will require further coding and testing.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberThank you for contacting us about creating a news/magazine theme. There are many design options, but you may want to consider setting your site up as a Blog. This would cause the page to show the blog posts by date. The way this will display will be different based on the specific theme you are using.
Thank you,

May 17, 2018 at 4:36 pm in reply to: How do I custom adjust the title/logo area and primary/social media menus in the header of Swifly? #22555JohnPaul BMemberHello Jessica,
Thank you for contacting us about adjusting the site title and social menus in BoldGrid. The Customizer in BoldGrid allows you to adjust much of your theme without any coding experience. But it does have limitations based on the specific theme you are using.
If you are familiar with coding CSS, you can use Google Chrome Developer Tools to Customize CSS in BoldGrid.

May 17, 2018 at 2:44 pm in reply to: Can’t edit contact icons below page title on Grid One homepage #22564JohnPaul BMemberHello Sarah,
Thank you for contacting us about issues editing contact icons. Since social media icons can often be within menus in BoldGrid, try going to the Customizer then Menus. Here is a helpful link to our guide on working with Menus in BoldGrid. If your problems persist I recommend disabling non-BoldGrid related plugins, and enabling debugging. This may provide a more specific error message.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberHello Ali,
Thank you for contacting us about changing the background color of a footer widget. You should be able to edit the “Text” widgets in the Customizer. If there is no option for editing the type color, you can use the “Text” editor instead. For example, you could use basic HTML to set the background and text color, such as:
<p style=”background-color:#808080;”><font color=”white”>Test</font></p>
The colors of menus and search bars may be set by the theme if they do not have options in the Customizer. If you are familiar with coding CSS, you can use Google Chrome Developer Tools to Customize CSS. We are happy to help you troubleshoot further, but will need some additional information. Can you provide a link to the site for us to view and test?
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberIf you are just looking to build a custom website for your tour business, BoldGrid is an easy solution. But, keep in mind, if you need to manage booking, itineraries, etc. you may have to use a 3rd party plugin. You can see some of the many options here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/tour/
Let us know if you have any additional questions,
John-PaulMay 10, 2018 at 6:11 pm in reply to: Haven allowed me to customize fonts, but I don’t see that option for Twenty Sixteen; how can I do it? #22612JohnPaul BMemberHello Edward,
Thank you for contacting us about customizing fonts in the twenty sixteen theme. Since Haven is a BoldGrid theme, it is fully customizable with the BoldGrid Editor. The BoldGrid editor should work with most Bootstrap based themes.
With the default twenty seventeen theme for WordPress, you are limited to customizing what it allows (since it is not an official BoldGrid theme). Unfortunately, you will have to create a child theme and override the font with CSS.
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberHello,

May 3, 2018 at 3:54 pm in reply to: How do I create a text block that links to another website #22646JohnPaul BMemberHello,
Thank you for contacting us about creating a text block in BoldGrid. There are several options, for example, you can highlight all the text and make it a hyperlink as explained in this similar question. JohnPaul BMemberHello KLynn,
Thank you for contacting us about reducing padding between blocks. Often, you can use the BoldGrid Post & Page builder to adjust the sizes of the blocks and this can often reduce the padding between. Since you are custom-coding changes to your site here are some helpful links to our guide on How to use the Custom CSS Editor, and How to Create a Child Theme to Customize Your WordPress Website.
We are happy to help you troubleshoot further, but will need some additional information. Can you provide a link to your site for us to test? What theme are you using?
Thank you,
John-Paul
JohnPaul BMemberSince this is not typical behavior, I recommend Displaying and Logging PHP Errors, Warnings, and Notices as it may provide a more specific error. As a test, try a different browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari. Also, try disabling any plugins that are not BoldGrid related.
Thank you,
John-Paul

JohnPaul BMemberHello Tracy,
Thank you for contacting us about getting rid of links in the Footer of a homepage. It sounds like you may have to delete this from the footer Widget.

JohnPaul BMemberHello,
Thank you for contacting us about restoring system files after a hack. Uninstalling, then reinstalling the BoldGrid plugin should add the core files back. You should not lose any Pages/Posts since they are stored in the database. But, you may have to go through the Inspiration process again and choose the same theme, or copy the HTML of your pages to recreate them. BoldGrid also has a backup plugin available that can make recovery much easier in this type of situation.
Thank you,
John-Paul
