Personalize 404 Page

traceyarbon 5 years ago updated by support (Support) 5 years ago 1

Would love to be able to personalize/customize the 404 error page. And even other errors, and/or hold the site when doing maintanence with a "We are currently busy maintaning our site, be back shortly" kind of thing. But 404 personalize page would be amazing and help in lowering bounce rates at least.

Ability to update blocks in Editor and said changes update on all pages.

skipfoot 5 years ago updated by support (Support) 5 years ago 1

Currently, if I make a change to an existing block I have to go back through all my pages and manually replace the old version with the new version. This is tedious, time-consuming and can lead to potential mistakes. I'd love to have the ability to update a block on the editor and have the changes reflect on ALL previous uses of said block.

Adding Icons is a pain

David A Mulholland 5 years ago updated by Jesse Owens (Community Manager) 5 years ago 1

Guys can you please do something with the Icons option as it takes forever to scroll through them to find stuff and often very slow scrolling or not responding at all. A simple search box at the top would help?

Answer

Hello David,

Thanks for the excellent feedback. I've submitted a feature request to our developers to improve the usability of the Icons menu. I've been frustrated with this experience in the past as well.
You can follow the development of this issue on our GitHub Repository.

I'd like a widget that I can put on my static front page that will allow me to show up to 10 of the most recent blog posts. Right now it seems the only way is to setup a child theme and this is way to cumbersome

paul 5 years ago updated by Jesse Owens (Community Manager) 5 years ago 3

Instead of a list of blog posts, let's have a widget that adds the blog. That way simple non-programmers like me don't have to create  child theme

Answer

Sorry to hear that one didn't work out the way you needed! Another plugin that does a really good job keeping all of the formatting is:

Ability to turn off the hover function on the nav menu

joshcoen1 6 years ago updated by support (Support) 6 years ago 1

When the hover label activates, it blocks the menu items! If you have a drop-down menu and people are trying to decide which page they want to go to, they are partially blocked from seeing the page titles. I would love to be able to turn this feature off. I'm not sure where else on the site it is used, so can't comment on turning it off site wide.

Pavilion Theme: Remove blog page title still showing

360inspectionskc 6 years ago updated by A333 5 years ago 4

I have removed the page title on my "Blog" page but it is still showing. On the Pavilion theme, there is an issue on mobile - the page titles that are longer push to two lines and the bottom line overlaps the top line so I am going to have to remove all my page titles but the Blog page it will not remove even after unchecking the box on the page.

Add File Browser to backups before backup

Jesse Owens (Community Manager) 6 years ago updated by support (Support) 6 years ago 1

When setting up a custom backup, or in the tools section, add a rudimentary file browser with disk usage statistics to inform the user what paths should be included or excluded in custom backups.

Explicit FTP over TLS

Jeffrey Shepherd 6 years ago updated by support (Support) 6 years ago 2

I've been having to modify my BoldGrid Backup file "class-boldgrid-backup-admin-ftp.php" to have the two "ftp_connect" lines use "ftp_ssl_connect" because my Pure-FTP server uses "High" encryption requirements.  So I need the option to have "Explicit FTP over TLS" enabled.

This is what I change, version 1.8.1:

Line 245 & 761:
Change: ftp_connect

To: ftp_ssl_connect

That's it. That allows BoldGrid to connect to my FTP server through Explicit FTP over TLS.
