Boldgrid Premium cost
Hello, I wanted to know if I buy Boldgrid premium, will have to pay for WordPress separately or is the $60 include everything. I wanted to know if apart from the $60, if there is any other cost that I should consider to launch my website. Thanks

Hello Jamal-
Great questions, I know there are a lot of different things to consider when you're getting started.
BoldGrid's products are a suite of Plugins for WordPress, meaning that they add our easy-to-use site design and maintenance tools to WordPress.
WordPress itself is Free Software, which means that it is available at no cost, as well as that you have the freedom to use it for any purpose.
To answer your question, you don't have to pay for WordPress itself, but you do need a hosting account on which to run your WordPress / BoldGrid website. We recommend checking out these hosting providers, since they all allow you to install BoldGrid when you sign up for your package.
If you want to try out WordPress and BoldGrid without any risk, you can try our free Cloud WordPress system. You can build a site, get used to the software, and when you're ready you can choose a hosting provider and move your site from the cloud to your own website.

Buying using PayPal
I want to buy Boldgrid Premium but can only pay using PayPal. Is there a possibility for me to do so?
Michael Oneka

Hello Michael-
I'm sorry to say that at this time, we're only able to accept the Major Credit Cards- Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. I will bring this up with our Team to see if this is an integration we can include in our checkout process.

How can I change the appearance of a button?
I'm using the Cobalt Photography theme and would like to change the appearance of the button on the home page, but can't seem to be able to do that.
Is anyone able to help me with this?
Thank you :)

Hello! Thanks for the excellent question, changing the button design is something a lot of people will want to know how to do.
While you have the button selected in the editor, click on the "Gear" or "Cog" icon to change the button design:

and this one is the design under www.website.com ONLY.

I would like to change the social media menu where is "Follow Us" to "Siga-nos" I cannot find how todo this
ow to change social media menu tittle

Hello, thank you for this question. In most of the BoldGrid Themes, there is no text displayed nearby the Social Media menu. In just a few themes, like Florentine, the text is encoded within the Theme Config file.
In the file:
boldgrid-florentine/inc/boldgrid-theme-framework-config/config.php
Down at the very bottom is a function called boldgrid_social_followme_text() that sets this text manually.
I understand that altering the Theme Config can be a complicated task if you're not familiar with coding, so I've created a child theme you can use with the Portuguese "Siga-nos" string included for you:
If you have already added customizations to your website, like color palettes and fonts, that you would like to transfer to the child theme, I highly recommend this plugin:

Do host sites have boldgrid premium or just free boldgrid version?
Do the host sites you recommend on boldgrid ( on this list https://www.boldgrid.com/web-hosting/ ) have boldgrid premium included? What does is mean if there is an x or checkmark beside "full support" and "one click install"?
If I have made my site on the trial free version of boldgrid, can I transfer it to any of these hosts?

Hello, thank you for the excellent questions. Shopping for a new hosting provider can be a daunting task, so I'll try to answer your questions one-by-one.
Do the hosts you recommend have BoldGrid Premium Included?
Each of our hosting partners has a slightly different process for offering BoldGrid. Some of them include Premium bundled with your hosting package, while others give the free version and allow you to upgrade through your account with them at an additional cost. I recommend checking them out to see which host meets your needs the best.
What does it mean if there is a checkmark beside "full support" and "one-click install"?
If a host has a checkmark beside One-Click Install, it means that you can sign up for your hosting package with BoldGrid pre-installed for you, making the getting-started process as easy as possible.
If a host has a checkmark beside Full Support, it means that their Customer Support department offers full support for helping you with your BoldGrid website.
If I have made my site on the trial free version of BoldGrid, can I transfer it to any of these hosts?
Yes! You can easily transfer your BoldGrid Cloud WordPress website using these instructions.

How to make website live?
Hello, I'm making a website for work, and am close to completion. I am confused about how to make the site live. I have the free bold-press version on my account, so do I need to upgrade to boldgrid premium to make my website live?
Or do I need to find a host instead and pay for that to make my site live? If that is the case, will it be ok to somehow transfer my site I have already made with boldgrid to the host site? How would I do this?
Im confused about what boldgrid premium does (is it a way to make my site live or is it just a way to upgrade features for making my site before hosting it?)
Thank you!

Hello, thanks for the question. I understand the process of moving a site live can be a little confusing, so I'll try to answer your questions one-by-one.
Do I need to upgrade to BoldGrid Premium to make my website live? I'm confused about what BoldGrid Premium does.
No, you don't need Premium to make your website live. BoldGrid Premium gives you great features such as remote backup storage and premium block designs, among many other features.
Do I need to find a host?
Yes, Cloud WordPress is a developer tool that you can use to design your site for absolutely free, but you do need a web host in order to make your site live. We recommend these hosts.
Is it OK to transfer my site I have already made with BoldGrid to the host site? How would I do this?
Yes, it's absolutely OK! Here's a detailed guide on migrating your BoldGrid Cloud WordPress website to your host.

Hello, thank you for the excellent question, BuddyPress is one of the most popular plugins in the WordPress Ecosystem.
I spoke with our Developers and Support Team, and we're not aware of any issues using BuddyPress together with the BoldGrid suite of plugins.
If you'd like to try it out, I've created a BoldGrid Cloud WordPress Install link that will let you test the two together.

Hello! Thanks for the excellent question!
It's currently not possible in the v1 Inspirations themes to enable comments on Pages without a little modification, though you can still enable comments on Blog Posts. This feature will be included in our upcoming v2 theme framework, Crio.
That being said, it is possible to accomplish this by using a child theme. Here is one that our developers created exactly for this purpose:
All you'll need to do is change the name of the file from "boldgrid-wedge-child" to "boldgrid-yourtheme-child" and update the styles.css file, which contains the line:
Template: boldgrid-wedge
and update this to:
Template: boldgrid-yourtheme

Call to action widget in Wedge theme has a translucent white box that is unable to change, but only in phone/tablet view
In my wedge-themed website, I used the call to action widget, and have used a white text that reads well against the background in desktop view. But, when I went to see how it looks in Phone or Tablet view, there is a translucent white box that makes my whole call-to-action text illegible, and I can't find a way to remove it. Is it possible to remove it? and if not, is there a similar widget that does not have a white translusent background?

Thank you for contacting us, our team is happy to answer any questions you have about working with your BoldGrid website.
The best way to remove the translucent white background is to add some Custom CSS in the Customizer to help control the display. The following code should provide the design you are looking for on mobile displays.
.palette-primary .call-to-action-wrapper {
background-color: transparent;
}
